    Finally......

    I smiled today as I thought about my Sunday experience.

    I played in the Borgata Poker Open Ladies Tournament in Atlantic City.

    516 women entered. Entry fee was $230 and I took 4th place, which paid $7224! I played for 16 hours straight. Tournament started at roughly 11am Sunday and I got knocked out approx. 3am Monday morning........

    My goal was to make it to a final table during the 2005-2006 years and I've achieved that, so now onto the next goal of WINNING one!

    Not that anyone is keeping up with me, but I have a new system. Whenever I'm planning on playing in a major tournament I do NOT play any poker for 2 weeks prior. I'll watch it and I will most certainly reread my "Harrington on Hold 'Em" Vol. 1 and 2, but I will not play any poker for 2 weeks prior to the event.

    This has been working for me since early August. Now I"m rambling, but I'll keep going. I kinda came on to my new "system" by accident. I had not been "mentally" able to play poker for sometime, because if any of you play no limit texas hold 'em, you'll know that it's a complete mental game. So I haven't been able to play for sometime, for personal reasons, but finally in the beginning of August it just felt like it was Time.....so I entered a tournament and the top 10 people won an entry into a Million Dollar Poker Tournament and yep, you guessed it, I was in the top 10. So, I didn't play for 2 weeks or so, because that's when the tournament was...and out of approx. 4,000 people in that tournament I came in 556 (only the top 500 got paid, but it was still a nice showing.) And then finally came yesterday's event.......haven't played in 2 weeks, but have been re-reading and reading Harrington on Hold 'Em and I had a nice lil payday.....

    I think I'll stick with my newly found system. It's off to Foxwoods in Oct/Nov for a World Poker Tour Event and then to the Showboat in November for a World Series of Poker Circuit Event.

    Soooo there's the long answer to what made me smile today :-)
