JJ Report: Desperate for some sort of adult life, I ventured out last night to a club in Cleveland to attend a benefit concert for the local HRC, specifically to raise money for breast cancer research.
It took all the nerve I had to get ready and get in the car and make myself go ALL BY MYSELF, but I did it. Desperation does funny things to you.
Other than ordering a glass of wine, my mouth never opened the whole time I was there. No, change that, I did ask some pretty boy where the bathrooms were. No one talked to me, I didn't talk to anyone. I think I was the only person there who was alone, I didn't see anyone else who wasn't in a group of people. I need my own group of people, I miss that. I wish I could be like those naturally outgoing people who are able to walk up to strangers and get a conversation going. I'm going to have to put that high on the list of things for me to do, learn how to do that effectively, or I'll never get a social life going here. And I need friends, I miss my rl friends who I used to hang with.
The concert was nice, the woman (Ann DeChant?) has a nice voice and I enjoyed it. But at the same time I was miserable. And I ended up going home right after the concert and didn't stay to spend some time in the club.
OK, enough pity party for me, gonna grab those proverbial bootstraps one more time and haul them on up.

I was coming home from school last night, an accident had *JUST* occurred...a SUV...they say was doing approx. 80+ smacked into am electric pole right in front of the elementary school. Busted the pole off approx. 4ft from the bottom...jumped the rest of the pole back about 12ft. Talk about some hard shit to view, were they alive, was there children, and the family to be notified in any case. *sigh* We couldn't be detoured, so sitting there was the only option. Watching as the jaws of life was cranked up and put to use, the EMT's scurrying around...the firefighters still showing up and tossing on protective gear...SCEG trying to get a grip on situation. Limp bodies...what a night! Power was all out until sometime around 4am...
