Just a space for femmes to meet alone and butches to meet alone, but to get a chance to really talk and provide one another with emotional support without the social focus of an activity.

BTW, it will not change anything related to the regular monthly Butch Femme Society meeting, which is held every third Wednesday at 6:30 at the Center.

It will probably be at the Center but we haven't worked out all the details yet. LOL, re: butch silence. Thanks for the good luck. I will keep posting info. I'm excited about it.

how much is the pay ? *snickering* it will also be confusing to have two people with the same name but for the different groups hee hee.
yvette always gets me to talk when I did have the opportunity to talk to her

I think you lost your calling in life at being an 'Ideas' woman btw.

Thanks, and no worries, because I know you are a joker. I am too and often get myself into trouble because of it

Yes, the "names" issue is very funny, and sometimes even confuses me, lol!

I can't take credit for the idea, though, because it was Yvette and Femme Cindy's idea, not mine.

Hope to see you at the holiday party.

Anyone have any experience with Lovergirl's New Year's Eve parties? This year, they've rented out Luke & Leroy's. I'm specifically hoping this is a butch/femme, poc-friendly venue.

We're also open to hearing about other venues.

    Thoughts?

PS - Rainbow Alliance made an arrangement with the hotel and they got a group rate of $129/night for those folks that don't want to drive back home after the event. You can contact the hotel directly, give them the group name, and make the hotel reservation with the special rate.

    visiting nyc in jan

am coming back for another visit in two weeks - are there any good girl parties happening? i've been to henrietta's, cubbyhole & cattyshack before. when i was there earlier this month, there was a 'queer gender fun party' somewhere in brooklyn and i've tried googling but nothing has come up. i think its monthlhy and they also have one in nj somewhere. if anyone has contact details that would be fab. anyone heading to london, uk i can also tell you where the good parties are.

also, my mate whose coming with me wants to eat in an authentic diner in manhattan/brooklyn so would like your recommendations, sil vous plait.

Cattyshack is open every weekend, and generally has some kind of parking available, if you drive.

Lovergirl offers various parties on the weekends, specifically for women.

As for diners, I can recommend Diner in Brooklyn. They've been around since '98, and part of the ambience is an actual old train dining car *s*

The closer you get into Manhattan, the more expensive the events.

    Good luck,

thanks for the advice. this is my fourth trip to nyc in about 13 months so getting to know more and more parts thereof but always grateful for the insiders' knowledge. i think the 'queer/trans' party i was looking for is more hardcore kink orientated but thanks for the heads up on lovergirl ones.

I'm pondering potentially moving to NYC in the late summer/early fall (perhaps even earlier). Is there enough room in this here city for a canuck genderqueer butch to drop in?

    Hey folks.

I'm another New Yorker. I live in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Whee.

I'm definately looking to make new friends. That's my goal this year: To make new, positive, non-fair weather friends.

LOL. That sounds like Toronto. I'm actually contemplating a move to Brooklyn or Queens. The company I work for would actually pay for part if not all of relocation and the new job would be out of wherever I live. Which would be sweet.

I figured I'd start now to get to know some of you -- if interested -- as I will be attending the BF Event in April and, well, who knows. One can never have too many friends

    Hey Miss Merrick.

Yes, I got the emails for the Femme Tea. It's on the 27th right? I think I'm going to attempt to make it up there.

Is there anything going on the weekend after Valentine's Day? My baby is coming up on the 15th. She'll be here til the 18th.

We are also in the process of trying to get a studio apartment together in the next few months.

    Kisses,
    ~Mallory

    I should have known...

I can't believe I've lived here for 6 months and didn't think to find the NYC BF forum! Of course there's one here!

    Anyway, Hi!

Name's Abby and I'm a high femme recently transplanted in this wonderful city and loving it! I'd love to get to know the other Butches and Femmes in the area, especially those with later night or wierd schedules. But really, I would love to just meet everyone.

    Take care and stay warm!

(Waving Hi to Owen Amends: Fancy meeting you here.... )

    Cool

I think I saw someone who also lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn! Alright! That's my neighborhood too!

Just want to pass the word that on Feb. 10th, Saturday, at around 4 pm, there will be a "Butch/Guy Bonding" taking place at Fat Cats. Guys who are into playing billiards, ping pong, chess, checkers, or just hanging with a bunch of down to earth people are more than welcome. There's a thread called "Butch Bonding Northeast" for more info!

Hi Turkee! Perhaps I will attend. Guess that will depend on if anyone asks me....

CSI Guy: Hi! Can I be a fly on the wall that night? Cheerleader? Waitress? BTW: Don't think I don't remember that I owe all you guys a home cooked meal and boogle. Wait till you see what I've done with the place. And no more boxes!
