Good Morning...Its Saturday

Here I am ...I just woke up ...and I'm drinking my coffee and brainstorming a project ...
my family sleeps peacefully ...

I like these morning moments where I can think and be creative ..
its incredible the things we can envision with a clear head ~

Today is Saturday and we are planning on staying home
Selena2003 put away all the clothes from the trip and the luggage..
then we went to buy groceries for the week

So this means in plain english that there is nothing laying around ~
Suitcases = put away
bags of groceries = in the pantry
clothes = in the laundry room or in the closet

Hopefully today is a day of rest and relaxation

Morning folks.

Was up and ready to rock and roll around 5:30 this morning and online with a cuppa tea.
Our power blew out during an email and I have no idea why. No thunderstorm activity, just poof! It only lasted a few minutes, but I got sidetracked with quiet coffee time with my hubby

Last night I got a new funky shorter version of my hair.
Looked great at the salon and this morning....staring into the mirror, I am wondering....now how do I recreate that?
Yup, gonna need to play with the gel.

Meanwhile.....I put on a baseball hat and Cid says, oh no! You look like a confused Butch
I said, I CAN'T go out with the dog with hair like this! Sigh.
Didn't our neighbour walking her dog question me, "haircut?" I nodded. Sigh.

We are headed to get our passport photos taken today. Yes, I wanna head south of the border this summer!

I was working the afternoon shift this week. Of course that means running errands before work. For some reason it seems I had lots of laundry, too. But yesterday I had to work the early shift. No problem - that means I can go out with friends after work and enjoy a nice dinner.
Except when I get to work there's an email asking if I can work a double because someone has called in sick.
Well - at least I'll be able to take the time in lieu later!

Morning all. Well I finally arrived in NYC this morning after traveling for 15 hours overnight. I am tied to say the least but got a few hours of naps in. I've booked for Mexico City but the client may decide to move the dates to early June. hopefully I'll know by Monday. Anyways, had a good but tiring visit to Irvine (too much work and not enough play).

The union voted on the contract offer last night. At 10pm it was announced that 65% rejected the offer. So the strike started at midnight.
Do you know how thankful I am that I live so close to work?
Today I took the GO Train downtown to go to the Toronto FC game. They won! Third game in a row, 3-2-0 for the season.

Right now I'm watching the Philly - Montreal game - the Flyers are leading. And the Red Wings won their playoff game today. But the Raptors lost.

morning loungers just thought that i would pop in to say hello and thanks again for all the condolences...yesterday was the funeral and was very draining for everyone

it was great to have Jaime here to help me through all of this............we went grocery shopping last nite and for some unknown reason i lost it in the grocery store...she just came over to me and wrapped her arms around me and comforted me until i could regain my composure.....she is very comforting to me

all of my cousins have met her over the last few days as she flew in Thursday nite..and they all have taken to her..and welcomed her into the family with open arms

ok am off to do some more catching up before heading over to my parents place this afternoon

Anne..My mother passed away not so long ago, and boy that was hard,she was always bigger than life so who would have thought, that one day she'd not be here. Go easy on yourself and don't try to be strong, you don't have to be. Be really okay and embrace those moment's when you fall apart it's a wonderful memory many times coming back and we want to to feel it, all of it. I remember being at a function and some silly woman was wearing a silly hat that was exactly like one of my mothers and before I knew it I was all over the board with emotions and even though it hurt it reminded me I was here and she was with me, and everything would be just fine..Your in my thoughts...

Sassy - my housemate works at residential facilities for people with head-injury - preparing them for independance. It sounds like challenging work. If I do make it down there for next year I will be sure to let you know. When I first started attending Jazzfest - about 20 years ago - it was not nearly the production it is now. The last few times I have gone it has been overwhelming - and the line-ups!!! And you can barely get close to the well known acts. I have thought about trying to get a booth in the craft fair area, there are some really high end craftspeople there...and some amazing work! But the heat is extreme - you're right there. I like the big windmill fans they have here and there. Line ups for those too! But there are still acts that never make it up to Canada - and I like to see the less well-known performers. I remember seeing Tim Williams - a woman - there. I saw the sign and waited and waited for a guy to get on stage - but this woman was amazing - so I waited. And as I waited I noticed the entire audience was made up of dykes - figured it out, I did. But she is great!

well it is always good to hear we are thought of. the move did go well and we have most of the new place all set up and ready to go.

sabra woke this am able to breath which made her very happy. so the new place is working out great.

tonight we had a housewarming to go to for a friend who bought a new home. and then went for groceries. after all was done came home and made dinner for my honey and me. now we are relaxing and watching a little tv.

it is late must get ready for bed. sabra has to work and i have to see my va rep at the career center. then take care of some other business tomorrow.

butchlei we are both happy gabby liked tallie. has she used the new glass yet?

She LOVED the new glass but we have to control the use because she made a mess the last two times she used it. I think she is so used to sippy cups with kid proof systems, that she is not very careful. I think this will be a process as she grows older ~

If you guys don't mind, today I am dedicating this day to Selena2003
Today she starts her last semester of college
Her last day of class is August 8, 2008

It has been a tough year full of challenges
and this is the home stretch
We are both happy and excited of the possibilities
and today marks the day in which we start the last part of this journey

Today I am a full time employee and she is a full time student
and we are both full time parents

We are ready for the challenges ahead
and I thought it would be important to acknowledge this

I hope each one of you has a great day
and don't forget to dream big, smile hard, and live deeply ~
Happy Monday !!!

i am so glad she liked everything...sorry about the mess we weren't sure how she would handle the new cup or wether she waas ready for it....but i figured you two could make that decision.....we got the items at the Disney outlets in rehoboth.......when and if you guys ever can get down herre to visit.......maybe a trip to rehoboth....we could hit the outlets i am sure Selena would enjoy that .......tax free shopping.....is a good thing......

the move is done but so am i..

.i think i may call off today to finish up odds and ends...and give this poor old body a rest....

the apts is exactly the same size just everything is newer including the stove and fridge.......now maybe we won't have to worry about everything burning ......lol...

i had no allegiy symptoms yesterday when i woke up....today just very very mild....i think that is related to the cat......but i can walk in the apt and my nose doesn't curl up.....lol

but it is much nicer...to have carpet on the floor and new flooring in the kitcvhen....

its funny....how one person can make a difference in a neighborhood......since Von has been sprucing up our outside now everyone in the building has been our clipping bushes and sprucing up........

well today.....i have to call the landlord and make some arrangements....to exchange keys........and talk to him about the damage jake did in his room........i have decided that i am not gonaa pay for anything ...he can make arrangements with jake to work it off or pay for it........i figure jake thinks he is all grown up and is the big man ...then he can face the consequences of his actions...and that when he is grown and out on his own there will be no mommy to bail him out of situations........

so so far the changes i have made in the household are.........

he does his own wash.........

making his own lunches.........

and he has to face the music and deal with the lanlord for the damge he has caused.....

i figure he will need to learn this lesson for when he moves out on his own....right?

well i betterscoot and call my boss.....and then get to work......

Well, I've finally recovered from my flight back. I dunno why but I was very exhausted Saturday and yesterday still recharging my batteries. It was very weird. Must be that old age stuff hitting me.

Ya, ya, ya.. It's all perspective. I certainly remember being able to do a week-long political convention on 4 hours of sleep (for the whole week) and a couple of pizza slices (again, for the whole week). Today, not so much. Granted today I have far more things to consider and be worried about and will only get more of those but after spending most of Saturday in bed, I can't deny that I just can't do that kind of partying like I used to.

thank you all for the good words of advise and wisdom and care.....sorry so late in replies...i took a vacation alone and went to California to visit some friends and family and clear my head and give Morgan time to think also. I got back yesterday and things are great, in fact we talked about it in a civil manner. She doesn't want me to take this job in Italy and didn't want me to take the job in London because she doesn't want to quit her job that she worked so hard for and just got the position she wanted and because my job is so perfect for me and taking a new job would mean starting from scratch and could also mean that the flexability i have would be cut out and my time at home would be shorter with travels for clients and what not.

She also said that she was sorry for how she has been acting and that me being gone to California really made her realize how much she loved me and didn't want to lose me and what we had and that if going to italy or any other place would make me happy then she would gladly follow.

I told her that I too, was sorry and that we can never let things get this way ever. That she really hurt me by some of the stuff she said. I told her I loved her too and that she meant more to me than anything and that this whole thing was so dash!! I told her that I never meant for this to cause so much drama and that I am sorry.

I also told her that i thought about this whole thing while I was gone and that I should have thought of everything. We made up and things are great.....althought I do feel like I have missed out...I would rather have missed out on a job than to have missed out on the love of my life!!

hiya loungers...i am just home from the hospital...we had to take my dad via ambulance to the emerg as he has been having seizures...we got there at 1pm and they admitted him at 1000pm. I just walked in the door. He is resting comfortably now after two shots of valium. The neurologist wants it to wear off and see what happens.
At one point last nite the nurses told us to get the family together and let them know what type of dnr order we wanted if he arrested....according to the paperwork its to make him as comfortable as possible so thats what i signed off on. He is not to have any extraordinary life saving measures. I had to sign an order to have restraints applied as he kept trying to rip out his iv while telling my mom he was coming to be with her.
My family doc has prescribed me ativan but I wont need it today to get some sleep. Will be getting a few hours then heading back to the hospital to see my dad and hopefully get some reults from tests.
Please keep my father in your prayers.
