Ok, fellow singles; I have another question about this being-single-and-settling-down-with-someone-from-another-state situation. If you begin talking to someone online (this person pm'd you first) and right off the bat in the first conversation they lie to you about something really stupid to lie about (this just happens to be their age) do you trust everything else they say and accept their excuse that they just wanted to see what you'd say about said fictitious age? I mean it was stupid to shave a few years off their age, but supposedly they were assuming I would not accept a 7 year age difference. Is it a deal breaker when they lie/fudge/fib about something so trivial?
BTW: Issues like age/income/job title are totally irrelevant to me! I want to love the person for who they are and as long as they are happy with themselves and they have lived up to their potential, then I am happy for them.

Obviously she felt that a 7 year age difference would prevent them from talking to you and that in itself is a means of manipulating the conversation. Sorry, but I would count that as a RED FLAG.

I've been there with the age lie thing too but it was short lived and they fessed up rather quickly,I didn't let it be an issue with me. I think I understood the testing of the waters, age scares some people.You see it in personal ads all the time, seeking s/o between ages xx - xx. It's as if anything before or after that age range makes you a baby or a troll. You have to wonder how many have missed finding that one special person because one's age didn't fit in the expective range. As far as accepting everything/anything else they say due to that lie/fudge/fib, your just getting to know them right? I wouldn't hang my heart out on the line at this stage but I personally wouldn't let that one red flag keep me from getting to know someone. Use caution but get to know them a little better, you will have your answer.

I don't like being misled. It is totally up to the person who was told the lie, if they wish to continue a friendship or relationship of any kind. Personally, i would be telling that person to get lost. Be honest with me or don't waste my time. But that's me.

I am looking forward to some & and a little destressing at a friend's house in Marietta this weekend... And maybe get introduced to a hottie while I'm there. Who knows? I think it's high time for me to start meeting people again... I came back to GA to visit my dying stepdad...Paph dumped me for Ramy (the night we buried my Dad's sister), so now I'm stuck in GA and staying with Mom until we can get her some kind of income. Right now, she has nothing...Social Security said they didn't qualify as common law, so she can't draw off him...They'd been together for 22 years. But if they were gay, Mom wouldn't have even been allowed to apply, no matter how long they were together. But anyways... y'all get the picture. So... yeah...destress, unwind, relax, and veg.

Let's put this into perspective, shall we!!! Nes pas? In the past I've had bad experiences where the person i was dating lied to me from very beginning. If you neglect to listen to that little voice in back of your mind that's telling you to not date this person, then something has gone array. Your probably dating that person solely for the wrong reason (i.e. they're probably the hottest femme/butch you've ever cast your eyes upon!- Been there...done that. and got royally burned for it) other than trusting that natural gut instinct that we all posses. I'll admit I've neglected to listen to that very same voice at the back of my mind saying "stop listen to me your making a huge mistake with this femme/butch!."

Basically, the moral of the story is TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!!!! Sometimes we can be afraid to trust our natural instincts. Because often times that instinct is 99% correct in its assumption.

If they lie from the beginning they aren't worth your time or energy. It's difficult to admit to ourselves, but in my humble opinion i think it to be true.

Just my two cents here. If someone will lie to me about something as simple as their age, then it makes me wonder what other small or big thing they will lie about.. If I cant trust you in just the little things, then I will never trust you with the big things.. Like, my heart.
