Really Single Butche and Femme List

I would not say I have ever made it a goal,per se.

But, one of my dreams involves being in a lasting, loving relationship.

However,I have been single for other periods of time where I thought it was possible I could stay that way and that would be o.k. too.

I suppose-for me, spending a lot of time being a single mom on my own, makes me look forward to spending the years after she is away, with an adult!


p.s. we all have our own versions of what really single means

I can so relate to the being a single parent bit as my wee man will be 23 in 2weeks has now flown the nest lives with his lady but i do get to see alot of them & they are a away so i count myself reallllly lucky you might find that when your wee one has flown the nest you might not want to be involved with someone for a while, as the transitionin period of adjustin to livin on ya own after caring for somany years for the wee one is hard enuff without addin anuther to the mix, you might need sum *me* time have a wunderful wee afternoon/evenin

Misty ...please do talk about your globetrotting. I wonder why there aren't that many threads in the Travel forum?! I have a new idea every day but hold back.

Labrys, yes. But I travel light (backpack and mini suitcase) and at 4'11, I'm often mistaken for a child. Thankfully, I've never been pickpocketed. Knock on wood. I don't have problems but I don't like stopovers. 18-21 hr flights to Singapore/Malaysia kill me, Seoul stopover. I only do Singapore Airlines. Planes can be a pain though. Hm.. I believe that's why I did the Alaskan trip by cruise one year, jumped ship, took a train through the Alaskan ports and plains (goldrush trails).

Farthest I made it down the west coast by car is Portland, Oregon. SF is next on the map for a southern roadtrip. Not too interested in LA again - been there a few times, enjoyed the LACMA.

I've got an itch to do a Canadian cross-country by train.

But first I must go shopping for snow tires. *sigh*

I think there are a couple threads about travel but
nothing major have to say i enjoyed livin in HongKing the best esp as we only went to school in the morning we had every afternoon off, usually spent it at the pool was great
being forces brats we all hung aroond together they took us out on big cruise boats with lots of buffet food etc every weekend to visit diffrent Islands was great, downside was there was neva any *snow* when there was thunderstorms we used to play ootside in our bathing suits as was so warm *gigglin* we had live in *chinese housekeepers* we di all the cookin, cleanin & looked after wee ones, i remember my Dad who worked along side the *gurka* regiments used to wear short to work cause of the weather, they sure knew how to look after their own in forces have to say was

Misty, the weather does make you wonder, doesn't it? It was my first time seeing and feeling snow ever when I got to Canada. There is monsoon season in the tropics and when it rains, it POURS buckets and buckets of water and crickets for all I know. Mosquitos too at sundown. Ack. They like my blood. But you remember the food?! Oh the foooooooood. It's enough to make me want to curl up and cry for mama's cooking. You lucky girl - to have returned back to Scotland, your home country after so many years. Ps. I must mention it again. Katie is precious. Thank you for sharing that with me.

Ugh! Been so busy! Life is a whirlwind lately of running here and there...

Went last night to my best friend's house to play WII...we laughed like kids for hours!!

Hi Labrys! I can certainly relate to the whirlwind of life. I'm gearing up for a move to another state. Packing, giving away to charity, yard sales, keeping up the flower gardens and an acre of land. I could go on, but will save the gory details. LOL. I still make the time for fun, friends, relaxation. Very important to me! Here's a FAV of mine!

As far as the Wii goes- it really is an amazing way to be a child again. Especially when you get to actually PLAY with the older children AND to be able to laugh at yourself. I make this an occurence around here as often as possible. It was a wise investment on my part. Add that to the pool table, the poker table, the "man cave" home theater and we have it pretty made here. *sigh* If only I could just take this house and move it with us. But, the Universe provides what we need. And, I've already made new friends where I'm going through the wonderful world of .

Here's hoping that you make the time for yourself to enjoy your life while it's happening. I try to make each moment count and enjoy life's little pleasures. (Another occasional pleasure, but best shared with a good friend, with a fire going, sitting on the deck and watching the sunset over the river)

I have to tell you that I've had the WONDERFUL pleasure of meeting several friends that I met here on several years ago. We had the BEST time camping outside of P-Town for a long weekend and I honestly cannot remember when I laughed so hard for so long. They remain my closest friends, to this day. I'd love to hear more about your travels! My plans are to start saving as soon as my house here sells and then take LOTS of trips once my kids are out on their own. Only a few more years left! Yippee!! So, where have ya been and where do you want to go? I'm in Maine now, so if you (and any others here) would like to take a road trip and come on up and enjoy the BEST that this beautiful state of Maine has to offer in the Summer, count me in as a possible person that you can meet off the list! sayin that commin from bonnei Scotland we are used to *bad weather* infact we are notorious for it *gigglin* but i love the fact we have all 4 seasons dont think i would enjoy livin in a place where it is sunshine all time < shakes wee head >
yes the food i thoroly enjoyed as the livein chinese housekeeper did all cookin so you can imagine how gud it was,
i remember my younger brother used to go missin all time & low n behold he was in the housekeepers ( think they were called *armars* dont quote me on this tho ) room being fed he adored her & the food she cooked lolol,
i have been back home for last 17/18 ( thort it was 16 but wee man is 23 in 2weeks n we moved back when he was just over 5 where does time fly lolol ) i always planned to bring him back home glad i did now would do it all again, but was a big decision as i left my parents n sibblings in England in doing so thankyou i adore her she is my life shame you dont have *myspace* as i downloaded a camcorder clip of her aw proud Nana i know anyway lovely lafy enuff of the bletherin but have to say has been a pleasure gettin to know you hearin all aboot you, this is wot the thread is allllllll aboot everyone sharin if they want to their lives & all the great things they have experienced, wunderful places they have been to, thankyou for doing just that has been a pleasure, i have a feelin you have somuch more to share with us i cant wait to here, have a wunderful Thursday when it arrives

I finally fell asleep about 3am, only to be woken up by thunder (which honestly I hate) then only got back to sleep close to 5am only to be awake & out the door by 8am Then after I'm on the bus and on My way to My employment workshop, the rain starts ........... I mean it poured like a son of a gun, could barely see even just a foot or two in front of the bus and got soaked running down the block just to get into the building! What a day

Well the sun peaked out for only part of the day, but as I mentioned to Kendra in My post above it rained this morning like a son of a gun! Not only rain, which looked like a blanket coming down it was so think, it was made worse by the thunder and lightening (I really HATE storms) and I had to run down the block after getting off the bus just to get out of the downpour. I was literally soaked by the time I got there, even with a jacket and umbrella, but after the workshops almost three hours later the sun was shining

*CRAZY* weather but oh well not much one can do ............ I certainly hope the weather was nicer in Scotland

It looks like I will have to go for surgery in the near future; when they took out My gallbladder nine yrs ago they failed to take out the neck as well and guess what? They left a stone in there! Thats what has been causing Me great pain and discomfort over the last 6 months or more, so I wait to get an appt from the main doctor to see it I will be scheduled for surgery or not (though its pretty much a definate).
