    Hope you all had a great day. I watched Battlestar Galactica on DVD and then drove slowly to work. I just got home and should try to hit the sack as I have school early tomorrow. I am excited as my ASL class is canceled and my old yoga teacher said I could drop in on her class anytime. I could not take Yoga this semester because it conflicted with ASL. It is hard to wind down when you work 3pm - 11 pm.

    Good Morning All. my school has a two hour delay-so no yoga. The gym is open though, so I am here in case the instructor shows up anyway. It doesn't look good; the campus is dead. The drive in was not so bad. My plan is to actually use the gym equipment I have access to -we will see right now I am typing this on my lap top and watching the snow removal.

    Anyone have any interesting Valentine's Day experiences?

    I spent the night alone in the dark in layered clothing with my cat lol.
    Our power went out for a few hours and it was starting to get cold inside the apartment.
    The candle light was so romantic though.

    Is it appropriate to wish someone a Happy Valentine's Day, when there is no valentine in that person's life, and the person wishing it knows this?

    I know we say things out of habit sometimes - like Merry Christmas to non-Christians, and such - do you think we just say things because it's custom without a thought behind what we're saying? Just askin' 'cause it seems odd that we're all wishing each other a Happy Valentine's Day, when we're all single... I mean, I thought Valentine's Day was for lovers? Just sayin'...

    For me, Valentine's Day is about celebrating all kinds of love.. frnakly, I think too much emphasis is put on.. having a lover.. GF.. etc for Valentine's day and only celebrating that... we as humans are capable of all kinds of love.. for me, Valentine's day is a day to celebrate all of it...

    so, to me.. yes, its fine... I think the Merry Christmas part is different...I don't wish non Christians Merry Christmas..

    Just me...

    No interesting experiences here. Just work and driving in less than ideal conditions.

    I do like candle light though.

    The women who teaches yoga at my college did not check to see if school was delayed even though she has worked here nearly 18 years. She showed up to the main building and realized there was a delay but decided to go to the gym anyway. So I was waiting for her and we did yoga together for an hour and 15 minutes. The yoga instructor is very funny. She is really sweet and earnest. She had planned to read a poem to the class and asked if I would be willing to listen to it. I said I would with a chuckle, she is in her 50s but has the exuberance of someone much younger. I can not quite capture it with words.


    ps. I was so relieved not to have to use the gym equipment that I keep promising myself I will start using on a regular basis.

    Hmmmm, never thought of it that way...I always thought of it as a lovers holiday...I always thought it weird my sister used to send me Valentine's Day cards. Guess, I'm an ol' traditionalist at heart. But, looking at it from your point of view, I guess it's ok then. And you are right, there are all kinds of love - I just never thought of sending my mom a V's Day card...now I wish I had. But on second thought, I think she would've thought it weird too...I learned my 'tradionalism' from her (it didn't 'take' on my sister, tho, lol)
