Hey, where is everyone? I've been told in chat there are lots of wimmin in NY. Are you all hibernating? What is the deal...

Lol. I'm really looking forwarding to getting out and socializing as soon as I discover where y'all hang out.

    I'm near Albany.

Come out come out wherever you are....

    Wink Half & Half?

Well, maybe we can get together when you're back in Woodstock. I just moved back to NYS so I don't know a soul...

I was just in Woodstock this past weekend, lol. Joyous Lake had a benefit for a really good cause with really awful entertainment.

Smile I think I've been through there...

Wine country, isn't it? North of Ithaca? (I took a trip several years back to Niagara Falls.) Although you maybe be a little further west.

    Yes, it is pretty...

Nice country down here too. Rolling hills/mountains, rivers, stone walls...

    Ah, the networking begins... finally!

Maybe we can get some members together and make some arrangements to meet. I'm really getting stir crazy...

Ithaca's great, hon. Yes, the falls as mesmerizing. You should go. The land around them is not, however... lol. But anyway, on the way up I passed through some orchards and did some wine tasting. I went in the summer when the peaches were ripe... they must have weighed a pound a piece and they were so ripe, the juice ran down my chin. It was great.

Ooops...sorry . I have'nt been to Niagara Falls in ages.Have'nt been to Common Ground in awhile. The weather gets so crappy in winter,I usually don't go much.I do have to say,it's better than the club we have here. The weather seems to be breaking here,so I'll have to take a trip up.

oh absolutely! I've wanted to come down there just for a change of scenery, but I've heard the dancing isn't all that great.

Let me know when you're going to venture the weather, we'll have a drink!

Sorry, it took me so long to get back, WoodWytch....

I would enjoy getting together with you for some bread-breaking and conversation.... We could meet in Woodstock, or half way or something....

I know how hard it is to reconnect. I lived in France for several years and when I returned, I had re-entry shock big time. I'm gonna PM you.

    Welcome home, feetz

It's a numbers thing.... 8.5 million people live in NYC, so there are bound to be a few more queers here than in a lot of other places. There *are* other events that happen in places outside of NYC, but it's up to the members of that community to organize them. We have a saying "organize it and they will come". Good luck in getting your community going

I am originally from Binghamton and there is not much there except for Squiggies and that is small. Been to Common Ground in Ithaca and I like that club. I have been to the Gay/Lesbian picnic and you are right packin, that was alot of fun. New Hampshire is not much better than Binghamton though.

I was delighted to see this thread! Thank you WoodWytch for taking the initiative and getting it started.

Last May I moved from Binghamton to Albany, new job, isn't that why everyone moves up here? But I have to say, I haven't had much of a chance to meet up with community. My gf and I were just saying today we are going to rededicate ourselves to that goal. Now that the weather is warmer, it should be easier.

Packin' have you always lived in Binghamton? I sure know Squiggy's well, the only show in town.

I never went to the Common Ground (is there an easy way to get to Ithaca from Binghamton?!) but I do think I met Beloved when I went out to supper in Ithaca one night with Dressy & Max and several others a few years ago.

Hi Nubka, you would be thinking of 'Big G.'s' bar in Cohoes. I've been there a few times.

    Nice to see you UBF

Would any folks like to get together for drinks after work some night in Albany? WoodWytch, would that work for you? Do you work in/near Albany?
Maybe supper some weekend night in a central place would be better?

    Hello

I wanted to pop in and say hello. I am originally from Utica. My Parents still have a place in the Adirondacks and I spend a month in the summer up there. I live in Florida now, but you can't beat upstate NY!
