Kids do grow up waay too fast these days. I've tried to talk my daughter and her husband into moving someplace rural...but..ya know..work is in the city..and gasoline is expensive.
I fear for my grandchildren. They still have some innocence....but..we live in the barrio...so that won't last too much longer.

Then again..I s'pose life in the barrio wouldn't be very safe for a completely innocent teenage girl....at least she's not sexually active..or doing drugs..or hanging with gangs......

Imagine how I felt living there for 9 months and wanting so much to play more than I did or could in them and with the frequent players rewards at all of them.........well you get sucked in and find yourself back at the same casino that took you out the first time.

I do go to the little indian casino about a mile from my hose and can usually play on $10 for a few hours. Great entertainment for a very low price.

Good thing we're not spending our own money here or I'd be looking for the BF loan shark

That brought to mind a wonderful speaker/writer/educator named Al Condeluci and one of his books: Interdependence: The Route to Community...

Condeluci is a pioneer and leader in the area of advocacy and support of community integration and inclusion of those with disabilities <of multiple types acquired, genetic, etc..>...in order to break the cycle of the historical medical model of support that actually served to further alienate and disenfranchise members of society with disabilities.

He stresses the crucial importance of awareness of the many ways we can promote stereotypical alienation without realizing it, and no intention of doing so...even those us in the field of support, and advocacy.

An interesting discussion in the preface of the book can be found <here> particularly on page 27 as regards to community interaction, stigma, labels, identities, roles and negative stereotypes and devaluation of 'difference' ..etc...

We had a discussion last night about the pathology of religions. The question was could....would.....humans live without religion. (The many dictionary definitions, not a single specific religion) and the conclusion was no. (For many reasons that would deviate the course of this discussion).

Specifically as it pertains to this though, humans are natural neat freaks. We have a drive to label things and than make a box for them to fit into. I got all the winter water drained off of the pool cover......I can hardly wait to swim

I'm thinkin' how grateful I am that work was only three and a half hours today because I went in for the money, though not much. Something is always better than nothing where money is concerned.

I was thinkin' what a wonderful weekend we're supposed to have and will I have the energy to get out and do something.......like fishing or hiking or even help my lady and her dad put the veggie garden in.
