I have the same excuse for not posting in a while that everyone else does...BUSY!
Shameless Angel and I just made an offer on a house today. It's a fixer-upper, in Logansport, but it will be all ours soon. My lease is out 12/31, and I'll be moving i soon to start fixing floors and stripping wallpaper. Shameless won't move in until June, after her daughter graduates high school.
I don't suppose I could generate any interest in a wallpaper stripping party?!

todo, I don't think I'll ever get settled into this house. If I could just get my couch into my livingroom maybe, but it is physically impossible. I had to cry in my back yard on moving day- don't tell anyone. We only got it into the back room by taking off the couch feet, the house doors and pushing REALLY hard. *sigh* My livingroom is a handy place to store all of the boxes I've yet to unpack though.

Hey everyone, wow what a lot of activity here, this is great! And Hi to my friends from FABU-Central (it's me, Faithe). I've been trying to catch up but there's a lot o'reading!

I may have posted something along this line before, and if so forgive the repeat, but it hits me every time I come here. It is so surreal to me to realize that all you great butches and femmes are right here in Indiana. Ten years or so ago, when I was coming out as a femme, I felt like the ONLY ONE. A few of us in Indy tried to so some things back then, like we had some workshops at NWMF and a 'zine called Swagger and Sway. Is anyone on here back from those early days, who read our 'zine or went to our workshops? Would love to reconnect with you.

But also would love to make some new friends in our area! We are in Noblesville, and my butch M and I have been together for almost 14 years. I'll try to keep better tabs on this newsgroup and would love to participate in any upcoming gatherings.

I'm so happy to hear that you remember those days--if someone else remembers them, then they really happened and weren't just a figment of my imagination. Were you at NWMF the years that we brought Leslie Feinberg and Minnie Bruce Pratt in as the Sexuality Series guest speakers? Or the Pat Califia year, when half of the midwest's dyke leather community showed up and had a play party in the dormitory lounge? (ROFL even now!) My all-time favorite poem is Pat Califia's "Diagnostic Tests", which is in The Persistent Desire.

So you're in Atlanta now huh? When I first read your post I thought of Atlanta, Indiana which is like 5 miles from my house! But then the part about there being a "large community" was a bit puzzling, since Atlanta is this tiny little small town! LOL I've heard Atlanta GA is really nice.
