• Things I Found While Looking Around

Every morning I wake up, grab a bottle of water and a Diet Coke (I have this new thing where I have to drink a bottle of water before I get to drink my first DC of the morning) sit down at my desk and read what is going on in the world. Lately I have been so disheartened with all the racist crap that has been going on in the world without any justice, not only for Trayvon, but for many people who we don't hear about on Facebook or Twitter. I was gonna write that post this morning, but that is going to be for another day. It is just too vast and too wide for me to write about it today. It's a long rant that requires more time than I have this morning. Instead I am going to share with you some things I found while looking around that inspire me and I hope they inspire you.

Jonathan and Charlotte on Britain's Got Talent. It is so interesting to see the initial reaction to Jonathan because he is FAT and the folks (including the judges) make all kinds of assumptions because of how he looks. After they have heard him sing this somehow absolves or obscures that he is FAT because he can sing. Wouldn't it be great if in my lifetime no matter how you look the general populous of the WORLD would just take a break from judging and just assume all humankind is just pretty fucking amazing.

I have been listening to this for the last four weeks, if you aren't listening to Azealia Banks you should start right now, this very moment. Seriously do it.

If you don't know who this guy is ill doctrine, then I recommend you rush right over and find out. He is one of the most amazing video blogger out there. Check out Phony (A Song for Mitt Romney)

Being a fairly new dog owner, have you met Chuy? This is my big man Chuy with my bestie Mikey.

Anyway being a fairly new dog owner I find myself always looking at dogs all over the internet AND THESE are the puppies that have me drooling to have another tiny pup baby. They are too cute, I can't stand it.

And finally this because no matter how much you surf the web for innocuous photos, pieces of information, fashion and fatshion the way things are going right now in this world where women and people of color are under attack in BIG and MAJOR ways, this surfing to forget is gonna be over soon. There is change coming, I can feel it I hope you can too.

OMG! I can totally relate. I have a little dog and she is my travel buddy. She won't let strange men approach me and loves road food. I was in Vegas when I heard about Trayvon Martin and I actually screamed and cried. I am a high school teacher and a lot of my students wear hoodies, love Skittles and are no different. We talked about it together and we are all sad and pissed! Bastard oughta be shot was the concensus toward Zimmerman.

I pray for the day that there is not just automatic justice for Trayvon but for all those who have been senselessly injured/murdered due to racist assholes. Zimmerman is what gives white folk a really bad name.....and z man needs to go to jail for a long long long time...
