Makes me wonder if coming to terms and coming out would have been easier for us if there had been support groups like One-In-Teen around back when we were that young.

If he had someone to talk with, things might have been different. He has a severe "middle child" thing going on as well. He was really pleased when I came out because I was always seen as "the favorite" and it was to him like a big "AHA!" to my parents when I came out. He said "its about time"...lol.

My mom is used to my brother. I think it would be easier for her to handle me if I were femme. To her its like she has 3 boys. She is trying though, and I acknowledge her and thank her for her efforts when I see them. Hopefully one day all will be well.

I had a close friend who killed himself two years ago because he did not want to be gay. One of the reasons I work with the glbt youth group.

I had a friend (straight) say to me the other day that it must be really difficult being gay. I told her that being gay is not hard at all. Its as natural to me as her attraction for men is to her. What makes it hard are other people and the mentality of the society has built legally discriminating against us.

I've always said I don't give a damn who knows I'm gay, I don't give a damn who likes or doesn't like it, and I don't give a damn what they think about it. What I do give a damn about is that I have the same rights and liberties as any other tax paying American citizen. By and large, the members of the gay community will always be paying higher taxes than those who can legally get married. For no other reason than the choice (for lack of a better word) we make as to who to sleep with. I think we can come up with a better criteria than that! I don't like to call homosexuality a "choice" because I feel like the only choice we truely make is whether we are going to be honest with ourselves or not.

Another thing that kills me is the hypocritical view of homosexual marriage. What is the big damn deal? I know gay couples that have been together almost 10 years and know people who are not even 30 and have had 2 divorces. Society doesn't give a whole lot of emphasis on the importance of marriage vows until gay marriage come into the forefront. Then they ignore the skyrocketing and ever increases divorce rate and throw on the priest's frock. Never even batting an eye to the fact that the very God they ignored their marriage vows to is the very one they say we are sinning against. This in my view is 'The Greatest Hypocrisy."

I'd also like to say that I grew up Christian, and my father is a very good and religous man. He does not condemn me for being gay and I respect him for that. He's not crazy about it, but thats ok. He is still my father. What he HAS done that I really respect him for is gone back and taken the time to learn about the Bible and its history...where it came from and who has interpreted it. Christians seem to forget that they mutated Christianity to appeal to the Pagans of the time to "recruit" them into Christianity.

OK....going to go weed eat my yard

shadowboi
06-02-2003, 06:23 AM
Well....

Its Monday. I have a 2 hour training session that I have already had 3 or 4 times at 10 AM. Its an introduction to six sigma, but I've been introduced 3 or 4 times already. I even had the 3 day class! Don't they realize that this whole "work" thing is interfering with my posting ability?

When will they ever learn!

Jess

MsMissy
06-02-2003, 06:43 AM
I thought the point of six sigma was to increase productivity by challenging the status quo. How can you do that if you are constantly being trained in the idea of six sigma?

shadowboi
06-02-2003, 06:56 AM
It depends on what you are doing. I usually use six sigma for design purposes. Tolerance loops and such for a check of interferences and gap to be sure that my design is within the 6 sigma specification limits. Whenever I make a design change I have to update the design scorecard and input my new numbers. Quality uses six sigma for process control for vendors. My tolerance loops determine critical to quality characteristics, and these particular dimensions are key to ensuring that we won't have any defects. Then this trickles down to the vendor who has to do 30 piece capability studies for those key dimensions. I used to capability studies and Gage R&R all the time when I was the quality engineer for a automotive plant. What a pain! Automotive is a huge pain in the rump. I had to get out of there...they were killing me with work and not hiring help. Oh, and not paying me what a person doing what I was doing should have been paid. Oh, and said capability studies have to be reported back to GE where they keep inputting them into the original design scorecard to check for vaiances in the numbers. They have a whole department of gearheads working on this.

Jess

MsMissy
06-02-2003, 07:14 AM
I am waiting for GE to come in and wave that magic wand over my company (which they have just aquired) on July 1st! I am hoping to get back into the position I previously had so I can get back to what I was doing before we declared bankruptcy. So we shall see!

shadowboi
06-02-2003, 07:40 AM
If they just bought you then you will be trained in six sigma. my advice is get six sigma certified. If you are a six sigma black belt you can make up to 70K per year. Volunteer! Its just basically statistics and such.

What was the name of your company?

Jess

MsMissy
06-02-2003, 07:45 AM
Conseco finance. I think I still have one of the six sigma books lying around my desk somewhere, will have to look when I get in today. And, yes, I am hoping they will do a bit of management reorganization so I can do the things that I want to do with that place.

shadowboi
06-02-2003, 07:51 AM

MsMissy

Yea...I've had the tasty promotion morsel dangled in front of my face. Come to find out that when you do a excellent job doing a certain thing, they really don't want to let you go. Hence the reason I had to leave Coors. Even now I sometimes ask about a job there and they STILL want me doing quality inspections.

Its frustrating when they do that.

Jess

PS Mugsy...good show dog

MsMissy
06-02-2003, 08:06 AM

We are making our hotel reservations this weekend!

Is everyone staying at the Sahara?

Mugsy

Dunno when Southwest will lower the price...I check it every couple of days. We have reservations at the Sahara though. With this many of us going maybe somebody knows somebody at a travel agency who can wrangle a group deal on tickets. Anybody have that connection????

We're gonna go to the parade, weather permitting!

Will see what I can find...

However, I book travel every day, and its ALWAYS cheaper ont he Internet these days....
The travel agencies dont get a percentage of ticket price, like they used to, so they have to add a booking fee. The stepped on price is always higher....

I think those of us who fly Southwest, need to fly together! would be FUN!

I've already made the arrangements for Patti and I. I booked with Orbitz and got airfare for $185 each with American Airlines. Travelocity had a special the other day for $153 with American.

Another point and I'm glad Mugsy said something to me, when you book your room at the Sahara, they have 'standard rooms" and "deluxe rooms." The tower where the BF Bash got the special prices in the Deluxe rooms. The standard rooms are cheaper, yet in another tower. I'm not sure what the difference in the rooms is. Just a little FYI.

MsMissy
06-02-2003, 08:37 AM
We booked a deluxe room. Now if only I could find air fare as reasonable as the room was. It Sucks flying out of Rapid City.

Mugs, we met you in person at the show at Jaded Mary's a few weeks ago....could that be it? I have lived in Nashville for a large portion of my life, so if you are from around here, am sure you have seen me out before...in my youth, I was at the Worlds End, and Old Cabaret almost every night....not to mention...the Warehouse, Ralphs, the Chute and Collettes....LORD!

Or, hehehee, maybe.....when you worked at Ralphs, you were one of the bartenders who avoided waiting on me, because I was too girly? and did not have on the obligatory flannel and base ball cap????

I think Pride will be fun, if nothing else, just to hang out together!

Pray for good weather!

I had a good time at Pride last year. But I was with friends and I always have a good time when I'm with friends. I like people watching too and there are tons to watch there. Those of you who want to sit on the grass while the bands play might want to bring a blanket or chairs or something.

You know, we had our evaluations in April.

I did not get a pay raise because my boss felt like I was "distracted" last year by my "serious illness."

Let me tell you all what happened last year...

In early February, I tore my left ACL in my knee. Was out for reconstructive surgery for 10 days starting March 28th...until the surgery, I was on crutches. After surgery, I was on crutches and had knee therapy appts, 3 times a week for 3 months.

During this time I start having symptoms of something else (in July). I finally after they DON'T go away go see a doctor, who send me to another doctor "right away" because it looks bad. Come to find out I have cancer and have to see a specialist in Memphis because they don't do the necessary operation in Jackson. I'm out of work for 5 weeks due to a radical hysterectomy and an additional 5 weeks due to radiation.

I get back to work at the end of October from disability.

Yea I might have been "slightly" distracted by my health last year, but when I was at work, I worked.

*Huff*

It just bummed me out and I feel like I'm being punished because I was out so much. It wasn't because I WANTED to! There is a guy that sits here in chat rooms all day and got a bigger raise than the one I got last year! I found that out from a guy who quit last year. Chat is guy is not always up on what he's doing either. Its the same thing I have always run into, and engineering is a very male dominated field with a very tight "good ole boy" atmosphere.

M'kay...

I'm stoked about the weekend! Can't wait to hang out and see the TN crowd again!

I'm sure its prominent where you work too.

The best I've ever dealt with it was when I worked with machinists in the machine shop. they knew I was gay, it wasn't a big deal and nobody gave a crap. I got along with the guys great. I don't feel comfortable with people knowing that about me here, so it keeps me a bit private, which doesn't allow me the freedom to bond with my fellow coworkers.

I don't tell people anything about my private or social life!

Before this I was in Hotels, and that was cool too.

When I was in college, I wanted to be a teacher, but I knew I was a lesbeterian, and am not good at hiding things, so I have always chosen jobs where no one cares.
I would make way more money otherwise, but....

**pouts moans bitches and gripes* I had to reschedule my interview apt today....the guy called me just a few minutes ago with an emergengy client that had to be seen...so trying again tomorrow...poop!!

Thanks all for the good vibes, keep them coming tho!! As tomorrow seems to be the day :-)

The hypnotherapy that i will be understudying is clinical and past life regressions...clinicals for weight loss, smoking, emotional trauma, drinking, etc....and the past life, is self explainitory.

Jodi, i have been in this field for years now. I worked under Dolores Cannon out of Arkansas who is world wide known. I was not only one her her subjects in her reseach but i am also in a couple of her books. and of course all our identities were kept out with a different name. That was for our personal daily life protection :-) It's an amazing field to be in as well as very rewarding.

I have worked on a couple people locally, one for past life and another for weight..Both are doing well so far i am happy to say. Infact Mugs knows one of them personally. Keeping her identity quiet out of respect :-)

I actually am able to do any type of hypno-therapy now, i just really want to get under someone that is established tho. I wanted to open up my own office, but rethought about everything and thought this would be a better way to go about it all. He has an established well sought out business and is looking for a prime candidate to free up some of his time, he is wanting to retire..i say retire on and give me all the clients..LOL

Lippysticky....regression is a wonderful tool...so many are afraid of it thinking they will find out such awful things about themselves, when actually it's just the oposite! When you're regressed, you will feel as tho you are there, but the type of regression i do, ther is absolutely NO harm that is ever taking place..that is a MUST!! There are techniques in how one does this, but if i told ya then i would have to snatch your gun and shoot ya..hehehehe

I am settled hon..lol I do hypno-regressions now. The reason i want to be his understudy is to have a delvolped client listing. That is not an easy thing to get going. Altho, i have recently been approched by some at Magical journey to work with them. SO who knows which direction this is going to go...

Just for fun GP info, i will share a quick story of one of my regressions that was done on myself by Dolores Cannon. I was taken to an inbetween human state of existance. In this exsitance amny things were discussed, what existance was life, what we remember what we see feel lessons we learn and how we learn them. It was amazing to hear after the regression. All my regressions are adio taped for the person to keep for future references. She taught that it is a great importance to have something to reflect back on. You do however remember many things you said while being regressed, some can be blurry, Hence the reason for the tape.

Another regression took me back to the Essenes, which was the time right before Jesus and durning Jesus's time. This one i have to say was probably one of my personal favorite regressions. There was a lot going on at that time and come to find out, most of the battles that were trying to be held with the Essenes were done so with weapons, but the Essenes held them away with higher frequency sound vibrations. They were a highly enlighted people and very compassionate not to harm anyone with weapons. This is the mini mini short version to the basics of this regression. I wont get into what my part was in this as i am not sure how it would be excepted be everyone, so for the sake of arguement, i choose not to disclose that :-)

shadowboi
06-03-2003, 05:01 PM
Now thats a good question!

Both are good wings so the deciding factor will have to be the atmosphere.

Trivia vs. Tetas, knowledge vs nipples.

I'm not sure which head I'm thinking with, so I'll just say that I have no choice really here because we don't have a Hooters. So that saves me some undo stress.

I actually think the actual wings TASTE better at Hooters....I like the hot ones, and the bleu cheese is of higher quality....
and Hooters is within walking distance, and even I like boobies....

However,

Wild Wings has liquor, Hooters just beer....

so, since I am not a huge fan of beer, depends on whether or not I want to drink.

Also, the stools are more comfy at Wild Wings...and, they have booths.

I also am a HUGE nerd and love the trivia, except for when they do sports trivia! I always loose at that.

You all got early starts today!

I've already been to my 7 AM meeting. Am still sipping on my first cup of coffee!

Jen, I too am addicted to the chocolate shakes at Sonic. I love the chocolate malts!!! As if my ass needs them!

I too will be wearing the shirt/short combo more than likely.

Today I have on the required casual business attire...khaki pants and a blue button down. I love the treasure the days I can wear jeans. I should have worn jeans today because I'm having a stamping die moved and tried out. I hate ruining my clothes!

ruining clothes = shopping for more clothes = $$$ that could be spent at Buffalowildwings. See the connection?

Jess

Buffalo Wild Wings last night was too crowded to I went to T J Mulligans and just transferred my points over. That is the last time I'm going there. Everyone there was 12 years old (it appeared to be). College boys showing their asses hoping to get laid by the 18 year old sorority girl....UGH! I sat beside 5 of the youngest ones too! They tried to buy beer, but when asked for ID resorted to coke, LOL! I remember those days.....vaguely.

*sigh* I love jeans days! I was going to wear jeans today (I won stickers for extra jeans days) BUT GE is bringing their computer programmers in today, now I have to dress like a professional. UGH!

shadowboi
06-04-2003, 06:46 AM
GE is a pain in the asssss to work for. We are for all intents and purposes, GE's bitch. They beat us to death with rules and regulations. Its still not as tough as working in automotive though.

Mugsy, Your so funny. That was so cute. Love the count down....

MsMissy, Can't wait to meet you love..

Jess, I hate places like that also.

Lipstick, Honey did you ever get to clean last night? Deuce and I did the Kroger thing..

As of what to wear. I am wearing the same as everyone else.. LOL Still trying to find something to do with the kids.. LOL

On my list of exciting things to do today...

Laundry
Clean out the freezer
Mop the kitchen floor
Clean the bathroom.

Also to do....I have a play date with my cousin's 2 y/o boy. We're going to McDonald's!

Apocalipstic
06-04-2003, 08:10 AM
Mugz, will you be getting a raspberry milk shake??? They have cute Nemo happy meals right now, Nemo quirts water, and his fins move!!!

We dont have a dress code...per se...but have to dress nice when we have clients or bankers in....and this is one of those days...so...skirt and sweater...

Sounds like we will be some wild dressers on Friday, should I add a feather Boa???

Kai, yes, I did clean....polished furniture....did some laundry...have a bit more to do tonight...we have company this weekend, and next weekend, so I want to have things in order so I dont have to worry and can have a good time....

For some weird reason that escapes me, I have turned into one of those people who feels like a failure as a person if the house is messy.....dont know when or how this happened....How did I go from Jen's Opium Den, to THIS????

Kai
06-04-2003, 08:25 AM
Lipstick,

Oh honey how I can relate... I lived with my sister for about a year. Good lord she would never clean.... I am a freak about it.. When I go to bed there cannot be a dirty dish anywhere. Everything has to be washed, dried and put away... I am anal that way... LOL

I can't stand clutter and Deuce is a pack rat. Don't ask the last time I looked into his office. I am not allowed to go there. LOL Good lord I married a pack rat....

My view if it's not in use or will be in use very soon. IT MUST GO!!!!! LOL

Mugsy
06-04-2003, 08:32 AM
Pack rat? Somebody looking for me? I'm trying to do better about that & keeping things a bit neater around here.

As for the raspberry shake...that's my plan! I don't mind being the taste tester.

shadowboi
06-04-2003, 08:48 AM
Hand over the cheese, I'm a pack rat too! I get very sentimental about things and have a hard time getting rid of stuff. My house isn't packed to the gills, but I do need to dispose of some things. Some of the stuff is stuff that I have dragged around since I left my parent's house! In the same original boxes too! LOL.

Still have some of the ex's things at my house (UGH).

Heres the question:

Should I keep my promise that I would hold her things for her until she moved into her own place. Or should I break that promise since she was such an evil minion os Satan and have a yard sale?

Legal note: After a year it is considered abandoned property and can be sold to the profit of the homeowner. I just have this thing about my honor and keeping my promises. I just wanted to know what the group thought.

Kai
06-04-2003, 08:53 AM
Jess,

How long has it been????

Is the pack rat a butch thing? LOL

Good lord, we have a storage shed, a closet in the garage, half the garage, then he has stuff up at his Mom's place. About a garage full....

Honey we can't add anymore stuff....

Mugsy
06-04-2003, 08:55 AM
I'd give her 30 day notice to find a new place for it...if she doesn't make other arrangements by then I'd get rid of it.

shadowboi
06-04-2003, 08:59 AM

I could give it to Jen and give her directions on how to get there! Thats a great idea! Would you do that for me Jen?

Jess--I am in need of some junk for my house!

KIDDING!

I cant stand shit to be piled up around the house..it drives me nuts....I have about 15 boxes of shit to go in a yard sale...Nice
Stuff some of it, but it hasnt been worn, used, or looked at in over a year and it is HISTORY!

YAR!

Apocalipstic
06-04-2003, 09:12 AM
I think you should get rid of it...

Though, I think Mugzy's idea is good....give her 30 day notice....

Dont mind dropping the stuff off for you, just dont want any drama and confontation....is that possible in this instance?

shadowboi
06-04-2003, 09:16 AM
I guess I could give her notice except I can't remember how to get in touch with her. I have mentally supressed it from my memory I suppose. Would rather bring stuff to Nashville...don't want her in the house taking things like she did when she left. BLECH BLECH BLECH!

Jess

Mugsy
06-04-2003, 09:30 AM
Jess,

I went through something similar with an ex & some stuff she left behind. I told her to come get it by a certain day and to let me know when that would be. On that day I set her stuff outside the door. What she didn't take that day I put in the dumpster that night. Wasn't about to let her inside the house again either.

Apocalipstic
06-04-2003, 09:31 AM
Hell NO, box the stuff up
and drop it off at a neutral meeting place....

maybe a public park?

hehe

I hear the Goodwill will give you receipt you can use on your taxes?

Kai
06-04-2003, 09:39 AM
Jess,
If you know where she is to drop off the stuff I would do that...

If she took your things when she left before I would not want her in my home again..

shadowboi
06-04-2003, 09:40 AM
I think I'd just like to put it onthe porch while she is at work. Oh wait, thats right...she doesn't work. Well perhaps while she is at the liquor store...that'll be enough time!

Jess

shadowboi
06-04-2003, 09:44 AM
It wasn't so much that she took my things...I considered them OUR things really, but by the time she was ready to leave I was just like "go.....go....take whatever you want just GO." Things I can replace...it was the things she was in the process of taking from me that I can't replace. My sanity being one of them! Material items I don't care about. Kinda goes against what I said earlier about being a pack rat, LOL. But this was a special case.

Whats funny is I can kinda do clothes. My father owns laundrymats in Knoxville and I worked in one of them for a year doing other people's clothes (HUGE GROSS). The manager taught me how to do it....have just forgotten?

Here's a suggestion....how about we all make sure to meet at the booth at a specific time like 6:00 and make plans from there?

It's a headache powder, like a Goody's

shadowboi
06-05-2003, 06:48 AM
The greatest headache remedy EVER!

Its a headache powder. Like Goody's. I think BC's are particularly in the South. I went to Michigan and they had never heard of them up there. If you go to any convenience store here in TN you can get them there, 2 for $.50. If we go out Saturday night, I'll more than likely have some, lol.

Mugsy you must show her the light Bro!

They are perfect combination of aspirin and caffeine!
