They really got some snow here in Selmer. I'm hoping people in the parking lot don't get nuts and skid around. Many aren't here today, but of course I am, lol.

Bought a new gas stove yesterday, and they will deliver it tomorrow. I got free delivery and since I live in the city, the power company will come and hook it up for me. Plus the city will take the old one away. Sometimes its not too bad to live in the city ;)

I did try to make an "out of the box" chicken dish this weekend. It says to just dump everything in, but the noodles weren't all covered so some of them were quite crunchy :s and brown.

SW i got my car fixed yesterday my brother in law put in a new raditator the cost was total 157.00 with a life time warrenty on it and it is so nice to have my car back and the heat works really good to but never had a problem with that. though i so wish i had a pick up truck 4 wheel drive a lil pick up truck though i would look funny gettin out of a fullsize one lol well SW i hope U feel better

Almost all of our family vacations we fished on. This year my family's annual fishing trip is to Lake Erie. Last year we went wayyy up north to NW Ontario - a 28 hour trip - one way!!! Most of what I'm going to buy Saturday is for that trip.

I heard that BPS is having a big sale this weekend, hence the timing.

I look forward to going to dinner with everyone this weekend. Sounds like it's going to be a blast!

I was going for Advertising but have changed my mind. I'm working on my A.A at the moment and have been trying to figure out what the heck I'm gonna do. I've contacted the Biology Dept at UTK to see if they offer a concentration in Zoology----animals are my love. I was under the impression that there were not any schools in TN that offered a degree in Zoology only Vet Med but I've never had the desire to be a Vet BUT I read that UT changed their Biology dept and added Zoology as a concentration sooooooooo........... I'm waiting to hear back from them and see what's up. If they do then I'll be changing my major to Biology in a heartbeat! Whew....... sorry for the long explanation!

Shark, we must be related!...every vacation we had growing up was fishing too! EVERY SINGLE ONE! From glacial lakes in Southern Chile and Argentina to Canada to deep sea fishing and everything in between....my dad fished....trout, bass, salmon, dolphin fish, red snapper....and the one lovely water mocassin I caught once....I was fly fishing before I could walk. I now HATE fishing. and no way an I cleaning a fish! I am especially disgusted by deep sea fishing.....ugh ugh ugh.....laugh....

Jen - I'm sorry you hate fishing now. I haven't been to as many awesome places as you have, but I try to go often - once it warms up. I've been ice fishing once and it was 7 below 0 with a windchill of 27 below 0. That was the high for the day. Have any of y'all been on a frozen lake? It makes weird noises - like star wars guns shooting. Why does it make loud weird noises? Because the ice is cracking and refreezing all day. What happens when the ice cracks.... it becomes weak and we almost fell in. Lovely. I was 8 years old then and i was scared to death. We tried to play football on the ice - not a good idea as your hands really hurt when you catch the frozen ball. And ferget peeing! Take off 18 layers of clothes - and hurry!!! Then put back on 18 layers of clothes - and hurry before your zippers freeze! We caught 2 fish in about 10 hours of freezin - I mean fishing. And that was really fun! YES! 20 below 0 and I really want to take my mittens off and stick my hand in the frozen hole so I can scoop out ice sludge and then I can pull in the line with my hands. Screw that!!!!!!! So, I can understand not liking fishing.

Got the new stove put in last night. I can hardly wait to set it on fire! :)

Seriously though, I asked the Sears guys to unhook my old stove so they could take it out to the curb for me since the had the hand truck, and they said they don't disconnect them from the gas line, just deliver them. So they left it sitting in the middle of the kitchen. I called the power company to get them to come out and hook it up, and they did, but they don't take the old appliance out to the curb. So I had to call someone to help me carry the old one outside, lol.

Since my lovely work does not offer insurance and I can't get it by buying if for myself. As Blue cross blue shield say's your weight will not allow us to insure you... I used to go to Fall Creek Falls when I was in college in Cookeville. Its so nice there! Also thats where they filmed the first 10 minutes of "The Specialist" with Sharon Stone and Sly Stallone. Cookeville was in an uproar because they were staying in the Holiday Inn (one of two hotels in Cookeville at the time). Sightings abounded!

Jen - all of the fish floppin doesn't bother me. Funny, I drove up to canada last summer with my brother for our big fishing trip. So on our way home the car started smellin rank. The longer we drove the worse it got. It smelled like a dead fish. We had filleted several fish on the last day of the trip and put them in the car to be put in the cooler on the way back to the cabin. I kept tellin my brother - dude one of those fillets fell under the seat!!!! So everytime we stopped for gas the 3 of us ( me my bro and his son) kept searching the car. Oh! It was nasty!!!!! When we got back to knoxville my brother finally said - I think it's the clothes we fished in. I was like - WHAT? He said - I wiped my hands on my pants after catching our fish. I was like - bro why didn't you rinse your hands off in the lake???? Now that was nasty!!!!

Jess - I'm glad you finally got your coffee - and your new stove! Read the directions when you light those burners!

Kai - I go to the Centra Care locations more often than not because I can never seem to get sick during regular office hours....don't know if there are any near you....You can just walk in and pay up front if necessary....

If Fall Creek Falls is all booked, try Montgomery Bell. Me & an ex g-f got a cabin there one weekend, fully equipped and very reasonable. It isn't as pretty as Fall Creek, but it is an option (and not that far from Nashville)

I can handle stayin in a cabin! but if there's fishin involved i'd like to try to make it (I have a small 3 person aluminum boat) .... depends on vacation time and when my annual family fishing trip is. My dad got cancer a few years ago - cancer free now thank goodness!!! but since then I've made a real effort to get together with him every year for a week. And fishing is something we both love to do! Funny, my dad hardly ever fishes, but damned if he doesn't catch all of the big un's!!! If I can remember I'll bring my canada trip pics with me.

I have a comment on this Blue Cross Blue Shield thing.

A few years back, I know of this little girl with ALOT of medical problems got dropped by Blue Cross Blue Shield. She had all these medical problems since birth(she is now in her EARLY teens). The insurance company's reasoning for dropping her...get this....They had paid out MORE than what her life was worth. I was like WTH!!!! I was ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS!! I was involved with the mother at the time. It blew my mind that someone can put a price on a life!

ok i am done ranting...Everytime i see the BCBS name it just rubs me the wrong way

Snack time, I know what your talking about.... That's like me and Baptist hospital's ER. Two day's before my Mom passed away she had passed out we rushed her there. The doctor was very rude and made a nasty remark about her weight... Said he could find nothing wrong. Over the next two days she got so she could not even walk. Her doctor admitted her to the hospital. That night she passed away... When we were called to the hospital at 2 am and I was told I took off to the ER. They had to get the police to get me off that doctor...

So I have a dislike for doctors and insurace already....

Hey Snacky!

I've worked in the health insurance field for years, and in many (I would dare to say most) cases there is a 'lifetime maximum allowable'...and that's pretty much what it is. Let's say 2,000,000.00...(it isn't always this high!). Once they pay it, they won't pay another penny. It's all about the $$ to them...

It's very sad, but true. And it breaks your heart listening to people telling you about it...

Right there with you Kai...and it's one of the reasons I am called to assist women during their birthings. Doctors are about as useful during birth as a dog would be. Then again, the dog would provide love and companionship for the Mama and any little ones there...so it would be MORE useful...

I told my OB with my first pregnancy that I didn't need a man with a penis to tell me how to have a baby. Ended up going in to the hospital to have her, and OH MY GOD it was bad...got that same doctor *L* Second pregnancy I told the OB that I was a veteran as far as his experience level because I had had more babies with one, than he had. Had her at home as planned. Third one? Midwife all the way and NO STRESS...it was a blessing.

Sorry, this is like a MAJOR soap box issue for me!

Yes it VERY sad Rose! I know that I ran to the Human Resource Dept at the company I work for and got more information. I wanted to make sure because the company I work for offers Lifetime Partner Benefits. My insurance is also extended to the Lifetime Partner's dependants. Beings that we were planning on living together. Thank Goodness, we don't have a "Lifetime Maximum Allowable".
