Jess, you'll be happy to know I had my first kitchen mishap...I'm calling it "Indiana Mugsy and the Kitchen of Doom."

So tell us about it...

Um well, I decided to make spaghetti for dinner.

First I browned the meat. I thought "hey, why not add the garlic power & a little salt to the meat now instead of adding it to the ragu later," so I did. No problem so far. So then I drained the meat & managed to lose about 1/3 of it to the floor (the cat enjoyed that part). I put what was left back in the pan & dumped in the sauce. Meanwhile my noodles are cooking. I was still tired from adjusting to the new schedule so I forgot I had already added the salt & garlic & put more in the sauce. The noodles finish cooking & I took them off the stove & started to dump them in the strainer thing I paid a whopping 94 cents for at Wallyworld. It worked fine when I was rinsing veggies but I think the slots are too big for spaghetti. I lost a lot of noodles right down the drain. (I have since purchased a better strainer thing) Meanwhile the sauce is bubbling & splattering away on the stove. I salvage what noodles I can & then go to scoop some sauce on them. Boy, my new nonstick cookware really lives up to the name! It slid out really fast. I had a plate of spaghetti soup. I still hadn't realized my seasoning mistake....until I took a bite. Way too salty.

At least the garlic bread was good.

It certainly is quite in here without our Jen or else we are all very busy. March is a very busy month for me.

I met with the Venus Envy (http://venusenvy.org) committee last night. I hope the Memphis people and anyone in the surrounding area will come. It is going to be a great event. Monday we are going to pick the artists. Should be about 30 women. It's April 2nd. Nashville: YOu can fight for my 2 sofas and extra bed room!

Morning all!

I was out from work yesterday because of the weather. They closed down schools so I was home with the little one :) Did Memphis/Jackson get nothing? We had about an inch or so and the roads weren't really good, but then the sun came out and melted in by lunchtime :( I miss the snow *sigh*

Things are out of control here. We are moving offices around and moving a new employee in to share our tiny space. My office/roommate is teary. My other office/roommate is driving me crazy because the change is happening too fast. She is always 10 steps behind. ARGGG :@ My office is piled high with stuff that needs to be moved. In fact, I think I'll post a picture of it so you can see my life this week!

Tomorrow I am putting on my butch hat, wearing jeans to work, & bringing my fancy cordless drill. My boss is doing the same. We are going to put together a new desk. It will be insane!

Since MBD's move to Nashville she has moved into an apartment, out of it and into a house, out of it and into an apartment, out of it and into the new place. THEN another move when I move there or she moves here next summer. I'm trying to think if I've moved that much in my life. Out of my parents house into an apartment, into another one, another one, another one and into my house. It's very close. But if you count all the moving she did in Indiana before she found us here.. Lawd, that's a lot of moving, a lot of change and a lot of purging. The purging is good though... I have a 3 bedroom house full of stuff. Thankfully we have the same taste.

So, I have nothing to do tonight because my weekly dinner with the parental units is canceled. They are out of town. I thought about cutting the yard but it's too dark now and I don't feel like dealing with my neighbors who are moving across the street.

Maybe I'll walk the beagles. Emma is loving Betsy's "brain food". I could check to see if she is any smarter.

I hate moving. I wish someone would just come in and take all my things pack them and then put them where they go. Of course, when you end up having to seperate all your things from someone else's it makes it even worse. So, that is just a dream. I am have Hendersonville and Florida on a balance scale and they keep going back and forth. Hopefully, I will make up my mind before I move. <G>

Well guys, I passed the national board exams!! It had to be the hardest @#$# thing I have ever done in my life next to childbirth!!!!!!!!! lol..
I was so nervous when I got done, and then found out I passed, I had to make a pit stop at the first place that I saw that had drinks! lol.. I needed something to bring myself down fast... ordered my usual Bud and then a double rattlesnake and the b-tend didnt know how to make one! lol so needless to say it was a sloppy rattlesnake, but it hit the spot never the less.. It was a Logans Roadhouse... had a few more Buds then had to sleep in the parking lot awhile to sober up to drive home! lol.... It was in Louisville..

So now, I will be prowling around Tenn.. might go down to some of the spas in Brentwood and see if they are hiring too.. I could use one more day a week to work--would make six days a week ... need to build my money situation up.

Jenn happy homecoming!! Will you have pics to show us?? Must have been an awesome trip! Sucks about your luggage!! I lost some once and never got it back!! got a nice little check from the airline company tho.. :) Levis (and everything really) cost alot more to replace in Japan, so I got alot more money than I really had in it.. lol They had to pay me then because I had NO CLOTHS at all! They even had to pay my employer also, because they lost my work uniforms also and I had to get new ones from the company in Japan.. sucked!

Reason Im posting to you, I wanted you to know I think the art thing is cool.. both at the clinic and venus.. wish I was closer to Memphis! If I didnt have any appointments already booked for Friday I would have driven down.. I do appreciate art and wish I had more time to create now.. used to make folk craft art, totally designed things and made them and sold them in arts and craft fairs. Only 65 days until I hit town! I snagged a new memory card for my camera on ebay a few minutes ago, gonna take a ton of pics while I'm there. (Hope 128mb will be enough)

I do NOT miss those summertime electric bills! Mine easily ran 200 a month for that 1 br apt I had. Winters were good though, sometimes only 45 or so.

My water runs between 50-60/month, the electric runs aroun 200 in the winter and 150 in the summer. :s Soooooome people are cold natured and have to have the heat on...LOL

See that's the thing...We pay the total but there is ALWAYS a 'past due amount' and they always have a damn reason for it. I know we paid the full amount last month. It's due now and $80 of the $100 is 'past due'. AND it's ESTIMATED. I need to call them this afternoon. *sigh*

Good Morning Friends! It's Friday! JOY

We hung the show last night and it is really nice photography. It's all natural, no touch ups or color alterations. I have never seen the light and color in some of these photos. A couple look too much like those inspirational posters you see in offices but overall it is a great show. Personally I'm not excited about the quotes from the bible on the title cards but I think a majority of the patients will appreciate them. He actually apologized to me last night and said that he hoped he had not offended me by the quotes. I have no idea how he would have picked up on my uncomfortableness. Maybe I made a face. :| Suddenly I feel like I’m in confession. What is my penance?

Muggs, I didnt get out of high school til 1986... part of my screwing up college was having too good of a time also... ever go to Lampkin Park?? lol..
The rest of me screwing up had to do with giving in to the demands of society and denying myself of who I really was... got married and had a kid, settled down so to speak.. now I wouldnt trade my kid for anything in the world, so maybe it was part of the devine plan of my life--but if it was, I am so ready to move on now before I get any older.. so wish some tenacles left of that past will let me go soon!!...

Jess... just be glad you got thru it even if it was eventually.. lol.. I miss all the fun and people so much... just going there for a ballgame or something stirs up the memories--going to watch womens softball this weekend I think! :)

Good morning all! I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My surgery went GREAT!!!! It was done 3 weeks ago yesterday and I actually am back to work as of yesterday! I have had NO problems and feel sooooo much better! Since I had no complications, I would have been on sooner but we have started packing at the house and have already disconnected the computer. If I would have known I would have felt this good to have a complete hysto, I would have done it sooner!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!! AND to boot, I have lost 13 lbs. since surgery..lol...

Good Morning All! I hope the weather was as perfect where you are as it was here this weekend. I love the sun.

MBD is on the road back to Nashville as I type. I only have to make it 4 more nights. The weekdays suck but at least I have dinner plans every night this week.

Don't go see Constantine. It's not very good. Napoleon Dynamite RULES! It is a must see.

I finished my degree in the allotted time - 4 years. I used it for one year then got out of art until I started running the gallery. I love the gallery no matter how much I bitch about the high maintenance artists. We did have a good turn out Friday but didn’t sell anything. I’ve only had one nurse tell me that she thought the scriptures were weird and unnecessary.

This little girl is going to have a hard way to go now.. we have offered her to stay with us as much as she wants, but dont know yet how much her dad will do for her--or rather if he will do anything.... men are assholes. The little girl hasnt seen her mom since leaving her house Friday nite, she was staying with another friend when they found her mom and she refused to go to the funeral home to help with the arraingments yesterday, staying at her dads sleeping most of the time instead.. someone gave her nerve pills already too which dont help much... so today will be a bad time for her and I hope my daughter does good by her.

I hate driving in Nashville!!!! go to all extremes to avoid it too!!! ... but now need to start finding my way around down there if I plan to work any there.. so if the location is somewhere I can find and there isnt anything else going on at the same time (I do alot of wedding parties on friday nites before Sat weddings, and some bridal parties on Saturdays--esp with warm weather and June weddings coming up).. but otherwise I would love to get with yall sometime..

For an good example of my driving skills in the city--two years ago (last time I attempted it) I dropped a friend off at the airport--they drove into the city and left me with having to drive out-- then my daughter and I, ever the shoppers we are, couldnt leave being so close to Opry Mills without stopping. So we went shopping and I had planned to get out of there before it started getting dark--I navigate better in daylight by landmarks-- but it was dark, missed the road I was supposed to take, and somehow managed to go all the way over to the other side of Vanderbilt University--saw a very cute little Ben and Jerrys that I would love to find again someday! lol.. passed thru some really nice looking night spots, a very scary mexican neighborhood, finally saw the bat tower and knew where I was and got back up across the bridge to the interstate.. took all of two hours! :)

Im just a simple country girl :) Also it didnt help that I was driving a one ton dually pickup all that time either---not much room on those city streets for a bad ass pickup like that! lol
