On a side note, I checked that I would not hire someone w/ a tatoo. That is because I am a business owner in the service industry. Our city leans more toward the conservative side and my emplyees appearance influences my customer's perception of their ability to perform their job well.

I have actually had customers state that they do not want people w/ tatoos in their homes, in front of their children etc.

but bias is bias, wherever it comes from. i didn't mean to say YOU personally are biased, but that the question is biased -- obviously whoever wrote that guideline has a pretty narrow view of religions. maybe that list of categories would have been appropriate in a 1950s Midwest survey (although I still don't understand how someone could choose between "Christian" and "Protestant"). but anyway, it needs some updating.

thank you all so much for all of your help! interestingly...there was statistical significance in people's age and their tattoo acceptance...but there wasn't any statistical significance between a person's sexual identity and their tattoo acceptance or their level of education and tattoo acceptance.

of course, this was just a "mini" thesis....and i only had a sampling of approximately 40 people.

i didn't get all my samplings from b-f.com, there were 11 (bio) males, and the rest womyn....age range from 22 to 63.

i'm going to actually do some more research on this...and possibly encorporate it into my actual thesis for my masters...but that's not for another year, so more than likely, i'll still use the results you all posted (in addition to a more formal survey, when the time comes).
