Hopelessly addicted to the casino? Always just a couple of bucks away from that big win? Believe it or not, this thread is for you too!

ANNOUNCING THE FIRST ANNUAL CASINO CASH AUCTION!

This idea originally came from Words (thank-you Words). I first offered $500 casino cash and all the casino dollars I accumulate for the next three months to the highest bidder.

Well folks, the idea has really taken off! A number of very generous members have transfered their casino cash (and in one case the casino cash of an unsuspecting spouse) :| and we're going to auction it off! The highest bidder - that is to say the person that offers to make the highest donation to B-F will receive ALL THE MONEY!

Wanna know how much so far? (yeah, I thought you might) ;) So far we have over $30,000 to offer to the most generous casino addict (oooops)......I mean....b-f gamer. I first said that I'd award the virtual money tomorrow morning. Now that this has taken off, I'd like to extend it until Monday, July 20, at 2PM Atlantic time. If you're not sure about time zones, it is now about 9:00PM Atlantic time.

How do you transfer your casino cash? At the top of the page, click on b-f casino. You will see your total casino dollars. Below the list of games you will see: "transfer money to another player". Type in "cybersuebee", and you'll add your unused moolah to the growing pot.

Want to bid? PM me, and I'll announce the best bid at 2PM Atlantic time Monday.

So I have to tell you all this story. I got up and checked my email first thing to see what I'd gotten in the way of PM's overnight. The first one I'd received after I went to bed was from Mistyblue. I smiled, and opened it up.

"You have received a $10 donation from Mistyblue." it says. I laughed, and composed my "What??? You spent all your money in the casino already Misty??" speech in my head.

Next email: "You have received a $10 donation from Mistyblue." it says. I thought: "Okay, she's just being funny." :) Misty, that ole scalliwag! ;)

Next PM: "You have received a $1 donation from Mistyblue." Well as you can imagine - by this time I've got a pretty healthy giggle going on!

Next PM: "You have received a $1 donation from Mistyblue." I. Am. Roaring!!! Then came the serious money in the next couple of PM's. :D

Now I'm not sure if she was just fooling around or if she had trouble sending it! :| To tell you the truth, there was more than one member who forgot to fill in the amount, and sent me $0. :s One member did this about six times before we figured out what the problem was!

Let me say this: I wouldn't normally tell tales out of school, but Misty is a dear friend of mine, and I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

So I've had much, much fun doing this, but we've got to get serious now! I need bids. A lot of people have taken time to donate to this auction, and we need some SERIOUS bidding now! I said it would end at 2PM my time (it's now 9:30AM here), and it will end then. It will go to the highest bidder. We don't have any info on the financial state of the site to-date, but the server fees are due today, and last I heard there was over $950 left to be raised. I don't necessarily think that means the lights are going off if we don't have the whole amount, but then there's next month, and the month after that..... You get what I'm saying. Miz Chris has carried this on her shoulders for long enough. It's time we stepped up to the plate.

So I have to tell you all this story. I got up and checked my email first thing to see what I'd gotten in the way of PM's overnight. The first one I'd received after I went to bed was from Mistyblue. I smiled, and opened it up.

"You have received a $10 donation from Mistyblue." it says. I laughed, and composed my "What??? You spent all your money in the casino already Misty??" speech in my head.

Next email: "You have received a $10 donation from Mistyblue." it says. I thought: "Okay, she's just being funny." :) Misty, that ole scalliwag! ;)

Next PM: "You have received a $1 donation from Mistyblue." Well as you can imagine - by this time I've got a pretty healthy giggle going on!

Next PM: "You have received a $1 donation from Mistyblue." I. Am. Roaring!!! Then came the serious money in the next couple of PM's. :D

Now I'm not sure if she was just fooling around or if she had trouble sending it! :| To tell you the truth, there was more than one member who forgot to fill in the amount, and sent me $0. :s One member did this about six times before we figured out what the problem was!

Let me say this: I wouldn't normally tell tales out of school, but Misty is a dear friend of mine, and I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

So I've had much, much fun doing this, but we've got to get serious now! I need bids. A lot of people have taken time to donate to this auction, and we need some SERIOUS bidding now! I said it would end at 2PM my time (it's now 9:30AM here), and it will end then. It will go to the highest bidder. We don't have any info on the financial state of the site to-date, but the server fees are due today, and last I heard there was over $950 left to be raised. I don't necessarily think that means the lights are going off if we don't have the whole amount, but then there's next month, and the month after that..... You get what I'm saying. Miz Chris has carried this on her shoulders for long enough. It's time we stepped up to the plate.

There is a SERIOUS amount of casino cash being offered up for bids here. That is SERIOUS money folks. You can do what you want with it if you win. Use some, give some as gifts, give some to Misty for the next auction. But bid! Please bid!

After I sent Snowy some casino cash the other day for this auction, I started to think about how I was going to go about earning more cash in case there's another auction to follow this one......then I remembered how it all started in the first place. I began rating threads again. I figured if I rate threads every day until I get tired of doing it, I should be able to set aside more casino money for these auctions. So, what I'm saying is, for those that want to give casino money to a worthy cause and find themselves a little short of funds.........go rate hella lotta threads every day.

That is correct and don't forget to rate the threads because you can earn money for casino play that way, too.

A few clarifications in regards to fundraising that I've been involved with:

Words is collecting for the next casino cash auction. Those donations I've received or will receive are forwarded on to her (actually, him - at least until the consequences of a dare are over and done with) ;) Great job so far Words! I hope we raise even more money than the last time!

I'll be doing an "auction" in exchange for donations. I'm not organizing anything on the scale of an ebay store as has been suggested by some: if people want to do that, I'll leave it up to them. A number of members have offered prizes as incentives for donations. You'll make an offer of a donation based on a particular prize, and if you have the highest bid, you will receive that prize from the member who is offering it. You are not "buying" the item per se - you're only being given a prize/gift in return for donating.

Anybody who would like to contribute prizes or gifts can PM me. If you have art or handicrafts, home baking, gift certificates (the possibilities are endless nowadays), professional services, can offer a night out on the town ..... whatever you can think of. Some prizes - if they are of sufficient value might require a minimum donation. I'm thinking, for example, if you're taken out on the town it should at least be a donation in the range of the actual cost of the prize.

Any ideas are more than welcome also. I'm only one l'il ole :bee:! Can use all the help I can get! :)
