Just got back from Vespers at Smith. I think it was the sparsest, most pared down Vespers I have seen at Smith. No other schools participated this year and the decor was scant. Anybody else go?
The mox was pretty under the weather but toughed out dinner and Vespers. She just has to stop associating with all of those cootie ridden sick people! :s
Lovely weather out there tonight. I’m so not an ice fan (the slippery stuff or the drug). I would so prefer a lot of snow over a wee bit of ice.
Hope all are well
1, S1
I was there. (But you probably figured that.) :)
The first thing my friend said was that it was barely decorated. I'd never been before, so it looked pretty to me! I think my favorite parts were any time the handbell choir played, and also the last soloist in Stille Nacht. Gorgeous! Now I really, really want to join a choir again. 8-|
Hope everyone's enjoying their delays and/or perilous commutes. Rt. 9 was NOT pretty at 7am. (n)

nothing like a nice, old fashioned homecure. chicken soup daytime, toddy at bedtime.
i once had a colleague who referred to histussin hc (cough syrup with vicodin in it) as the nectar of the god's. to which i replied, only cuz you're sober. if you weren't, you be swearing by the toddies. a nice virgin substitute is lots of fresh lemon, oodles of honey, and water, like hot lemonade. (in fact, honey is better than most over the counter cold medicines. save your money. now that's sweet.)
isn't the light snow marvelous tonight? all sparkley and gorgeous?

Oh, you don't really owe me any apologies. The Kitty tends to arouse strong opinions in people, LOL. I will admit I probably wouldn't spend the money on a diamond-encrusted Hello Kitty, but I might feel differently if I were rich and had millions just burning a hole in my pocket. Ms.Sparkle,
If I may be so presumptuous...
If you find it convenient to do so, cover your windsheild (or windsheilds) prior to snow or "wintry mix". And old over-sized or beach towel should work perfectly. Make sure to either cover the wipers, or lift them into their upright/vertical positions. Or you can lift them vertically, lay down your towel/tarp and then place the wipers on top of the towel to keep it (hopefully) from blowing about.
When you need to scrape thick ice from a windshield or any glass, take the sharp edge of your hard plastic scraper in both hands and CUT through the ice, like a knife, in a rough grid. THEN begin scraping with the scraper (wide) side. The small pieces should scrape easily once you have made the cut.
What is wrong with your defrost? Is it the rear window defrost or the front/blower heating element itself?
Best to you. And remember: only 3 more months of winter! We got a late start this year...
Oh, also: If you obtain a 25lb bag of sand from a hardware or home supply store and leave it opened with a coffee can in it on your porch/foyer. When you leave the house in icy conditions, take a can full of sand and sprinkle it ahead of you as you walk to your car to increase traction- you can keep some in your car too. Good luck!

Warning naturalist/environmentalist sometimes interpreted as curmudgeon ahead! Lol
Well, honestly, I am not a fan of the remote car starter because I think it is just another unnecessary gadget of convenience that removes us even further from experiencing real life. I am not a fan of freezing to death, but a little cold never really hurt anybody, it is just a bit uncomfortable, such is life. Being able to go from a warm house to a warm car just isn’t worth the money, technology, idle time CO2 spewing price you pay.
I guess I am not a fan of most things if they are simply for convenience sake. I am a clean your own house vs hired help, shovel the snow vs snow blower, push mower vs ride on, gas or electric mower. I really hate the heat but I am still not a fan of air conditioners and if I have to get a little cold while getting to my car and scraping it off and heating it up, oh well, it is winter after all. My own personal viewpoint is I’d rather experience it all than get all soft and spoiled possibly at the expense of others or the environment.
I think being continuously and overly comfortable is often not at all what is cracked up to be. It is just not what I aspire to be.

see........... as someone who has, herself, cleaned other people's toilets and messy homes...i see no greater environmental impact to having other people clean your home (as opposed to oneself) (i was a merrymaid, dontyaknow)..i mean if its you, or if its me...what does it matter? the same energy is expended...what really matters is if the person cleaning your filth is paid a fair wage for the task......in fact ...i could really use both a once-a-week-house-keep & an occasional kitty-sitter...
...and also, whilst i take battle with my windscreen on a morning such as this...my car is burning away at the petrol i put in it...so its not so much a matter of automatic car starter or not...my car *will* have to warm up proper before she drives proper...it will have to warm up enough to help melt the ice to a scrape-able consistency...
and it will probably burn less fuel IF the defroster was working...
no?
blavatsky, thanks for the tips...i think my experience would be better were i to replace the motor-blower that keeps my heat/cool/defrost from working. but i definitely will use your slice and scrape strategy in the future. i was quite certain i was on the verge of bashing my windscreen to pieces this morning...i also have an extreme height disadvantage....
alas, i called my mechanic today about replacing the long overdue defunct motor blower. so perhaps i shall have both heat and defrost soon.
also, i detest winter. stupid winter. meh.

dear S1-
please explain to me any remaining argument you might have regarding the remote car starter issue. i just do not see it. since i am garageless, i'll gladly take this particular convenience. besides, with the remote, the car stays locked, thus diminishing the risk of hooligans lurking about to steal my running buru while i am applying my mascara and donning my cotton socks, multitasking as always.

LOL no good Lady, I had no idea your were a Merrymaid! Were you merry when you were thus employed?
What does it matter for me personally? Well, quite simply, it’s my stuff, its my responsibility. Yes the energy out put is quite the same no matter who does it, but I’d rather it was my energy attending to my own things. That part is, I suppose, more about my own personal view on the inherent value of caring for my own things myself than it is “environmental.”
I too used to do other peoples work for them as well. I used to landscape for people who owned large fabulous yards. While they simply had to have the property, they would never dream of personally caring for it, they were after all above that. They were too important, too busy, too interested in other things. Yet they HAD to have a large fabulous yard. It is like “I simply must have it…but I also must have someone else to take care of it all.” ^o) Personally I think if ones yard it too big for them to care for themselves, (barring injury or other physical impairments) ones yard is too big.
Anyway, blah, blah….
As for your chariot, tis true, it is far more energy efficient when it is running properly. Perhaps it is time for a little red Mini Cooper with an excellent defroster and oh I dunno maybe a MC boi to wash your car, do regular maintenence, scrape the ice and snow from your windscreen and warm up your ride on cold winter days. They may come with car, rather like the trunk monkey --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkZcG_pgp0Q

I saw half dozen ambulances on rt 9 when I was out there....
Apparently there was an 11-car pile up on 91S. Which is why the on-ramps were backed up - which is why the bridge was backed up - which is why rt 9 was backed up 10-miles east into Amherst....
King St is still bumper to bumper.
That and the brilliant folks who decided to wait to close things down & then did it all at once - unleashing 1000s of cars in all directions at one time. The collective intelligence of our oh-so-academic-community sometimes astounds me.
I do believe msmox is this side of the river. :)

I'm off to see if I can fix my wiper fluid resevoir, and to find one of those tarp thingys for my windscreen (the old towel idea doesn't fill me with confidence, i have a vision of terry cloth superglued to glass under 3in of ice). Also I clearly need one of those scraper thingy-s that has a retractable handle - as my height is proving to be a disadvantage in ice removal pursuits.
And then I'm off to navigate the crowds downtown ~ in an attempt to finish (or nearly finish) ~ my holiday shopping. **sigh**

good gracious. after a few days away from the site i see we've all been kvetching about the weather. allow me to join the conversation. (ahem)
i've spent the last 24 hours strategizing how to get to work tomorrow and each time i've come up with a plan the damn report changes.
however, i am so very pleased to report that my remote starter/scraper does double time as a tarp and sand bag supplier. make sure when you place your ad in the advocate you specify you need a boi who's willing to get dirty on top of the roof as well as the windshield, and in the backseat of your car, ladies, mkay?
(a)worked for me.
in other news, we too saw a kazillion ice and snow related injuries and continue to do so. YEESH. that combined with the last hurrah weekend between the end of classes and finals, the umass campus is truly um, nutty. and the xray dept closed early just when all the hobbling wounded and fractured were advancing on us in droves. umm...where were these folks gonna go--cooley? how were they supposed to get there?! ARGH.
(thinking8-)) perhaps the ad in the advocate can specify ability to take on ( that is, overtake) the campus plowing and sanding, for extra special *credits* since the physical plant surely is doing a wretched job of it. :@8o|:@ not only do they make us pay to park, they don't care properly for the lots and walks, and we have to walk FOREVER to get to our respective buildings.
(wow. i feel so much better now.)
pssst--i learned this the hard way--square envelopes require extra postage. if you are mailing bushels of cards out, um, i hope you already know this. i keep thinking i am so popular when i see cards in my mailbox...until i realize they are the ones i sent, returned for additional postage.

the shine wears off quite quickly, luckily for me, this time my most versatile boi took care of most of the work for me.
too bad my remote carstarter/shoveler/tarper/sander/scraper is not for rent.
dear santa, this year for christmas i want all my friends to have one of what i've got. just not mine.
hee.
happy travels to (ip)(ip)(ip)

I really do need to take out that ad in The Advocate. I wouldn't even make my snow boi sleep in the car. She/hy/he could even have my couch! I'm not a total bitch. And I would definitely share with you, Sparklee! What I really don't get is why I follow parking bans when I get plowed in anyways. Grrrrrrrr. Only 3 more days till Florida!!!!!!!! The snow is beautiful, but the shoveling is not.

My condo group uses some guy named ROCKY.
Say, MF, do you have the number for terminex? Rocky can't seem to figure out how to keep the mice outta my walls. Those little creatures sure do know how to ruckus.
Maybe if the butches from terminex are so scary, the mice will go "OMG. She said ooga booga! " and panic and run for the hills.
Maybe we could get one of them to relocate, stay on your couch or your backseat and double as plowshovelsandscrapeboi?
Glad you are warm and safe in FL. enjoy the season.

Ughhhh...holiday meltdown this side of town....
my mother's gift will not make it in time - due to general warehouse & customer service fuckwittery at Ann Taylor. 8o|
they suggested i print off a picture of what i bought her and WRAP that.....................................'cause that will be fun to give. 8o|
still awaiting 3 more packages today. sigh. ...for all my unsuccessful buy local attempts i am still at the will of the navigational skills of dhl/ups. :s
i have a gazillion and one things still on my to-do list, to be done after work & before bedtime tonight...:|
i'm sick to death of the holiday traffic. and there is so much more to come. 8o|
AND i have a long stretch of no-sleeping-in in-sight, in front of me....
Oh and mox, you'll appreciate this...the barely 20-something downstairs had a raging party last night. it reminded me of the raging party M. had in the same apartment a couple of years ago, just a week or so before i moved in.
i felt O.L.D. laying in my bed listening to the drunken chaos and cursing them. :|
i may have ~temporarily~ lost my holiday cheer.

mox: Both my mother and I were HYSTERICAL over my grandmother's comment. She is just too much. I am sure to have many more gems before the next week is over. I think the idea of hijacking one of the Southern Terminex butches to double as a snowboi is a fantabulous idea! I will see what I can do and keep you updated. Lord knows, we can not have mice living in your walls. Damn Rocky.

I didn't even proper-procrastinate by normal xmas shopping standards.
I ordered everything last week and paid expedited shipping. :(
...But that had to be a very sad child indeed!!! Povre Child! Bad Auntie!
Pictures of toys are far less enjoyable that real toys....as are pictures of cashmere. :|
I'm hating Ann Taylor today!!
I wrote the President/CEO a pointed email about my experience.
I hate them even more so because the fcukers are one of the few companies who make *quality* business attire in petite sizes which means I can only successfully boycott them for so long.
ps. I'd like to put my order in for an exterminator/snowboi too.
I will gladly pay for expedited shipping. or perhaps we can timeshare?

My mom and I just exchanged a look like "Yep, she's gonna need to be commited soon." We were giggling because she says some crazy stuff sometimes. But she got all angry and INSISTED my Dad go outside because there was a man in a red suit on our front porch. Turns out, it was a DHL delivery guy in a red shirt delivering a late package. Springfield, VT, home of the giant donut holding homer hand and the Simpson's movie.
too damn cold to actually break out the snowshoes.
YES--it's true, layers are good.
alas, it's time to ring in the new year by returning to work and the old grind.
auld lang syne and all that jazz.

surely it would be difficult to hustle in those, or if dead.
i'll wear a dress to the dance, and my birthday suit to my death. i mean really. my dad always said, you came in it, you leave in it....of course, he only said that when i was threatening to run away.
oh dear, i might not want to hustle naked in death shoes.
what ever shall i wear? 8-)

Hi Funlunvin'! The Old Lesbian Dances are so underattended. There's also this kind of low energy in the room and everyone moves slowly or stands in one place and doesn't budge. I don't know if I can handle it again though I love to dance and especially early in the evening (though most of my early evening dancing is in my kitchen while Chef Bone cooks).

Where is the WtF dance this year? I liked the Hotel last year for convenience but it was really packed! Maybe packed is good. It needed a bigger dance floor though.
MsMoxie, you have some practically impractical shoes that I like. They're sort of like tap dancing shoes with a strap across the top and a low curvaceous heel. Am I imagining these?

I am all for bigger dance floors! Whatever happened to actual ballroom sized dance floors? Dancing on a postage stamp, or half carpet have dance floor, while all of the "standers and talkers" have copious amounts of elbow room seems a bit backwards!
Sheesh, I mean, if you are going to call it a "dance" at least have a substantial dance floor. If it is going to be a big party with music, food and a small square upon which to gyrate rhythmically in one tiny spot... just call it a party or a social gathering (or, if you are like me, you can call it dancers hell)

Where is the WtF dance this year? ....
MsMoxie, you have some practically impractical shoes that I like. They're sort of like tap dancing shoes with a strap across the top and a low curvaceous heel. Am I imagining these?

LOL LCS, that is exactly what I said! After all the right LBD is but a can a canvas waiting for the perfect accessories and shoes! The canvas is course the framework of the picture but the shoes can make or break the outfit. ;)
All this talk of appropriate couture for the evening and I am now myself pondering what to wear. I remember the first few events seemed much more formal (um.. well, formal-esque anyway) then they have seemed in recent years. Something about wearing a tux to an event while others dash about in khakis and the quintessential ‘lesbian vest’ that in a small, way takes some of the fun out of it for me. :( (w)
LOL but really, clothing aside, if I had my druthers, I would settle for a huge dance floor, and the ability to enter the event without being greeted by a drum line pounding and banging away. The first time that happened I thought I had made a mistake in my directions and arrived instead at a Holly Near concert! :|
However as I see the list of certain attendees growing I am becoming convinced that the evening will be a fun party! :D:D Still, I am not breaking out any of the tuxes this time around. I suppose a simple black suit will do. It is the butch equivalent to the LBD. Accessorized with the all new shirt, tie, and cufflinks I suppose it’s a new outfit.

I just received an e-mail from my lesbian book club that there is a Ferron concert in VT this coming Saturday. If anyone is interested in the details, I can post them here or send a PM.
The location of the show is Hartland, VT, which is about an hour N of Brattleboro, so maybe 2 hours from the Noho area. I have no information about any MA shows, but can provide the e-mail of the VT organizer and she may know of any other dates planned in the area.
I'm not even sure what kind of music she plays, but I know there are several musicians that post in this thread and thought it might be of interest.

Hi MissSnow! What I like even more about Ferron than her music is that she is a terrific performer. She is so funny (totally rare among lesbian folk singers) and has a gift for mixing song with commentary about all sorts of things. Part Vegas Lounge Act; part Lesbian Folk Singer.

Hello back at you all! I skimmed that there was a dance in Feb and for some reason keep calling it the what-the-f@#% dance (in my head) because I thought it was abbreviated as WTF, right?
Anyways, will scroll back to see if there's a linky or something for more details. It would be fun to dress up!

musicfemme, I too have been struggling with 1,S1's boxing announcer name...........
my glibness escapes me....(sometimes)
In other news, I've had a day filled with fuckwittery! Hooorah. and Quell Suprise!
This morning...
I was personally immersed in a far-reaching-funk of electrical failure..
ya know...one of those mornings when everything you touch turns to utter shite....
My car wouldn't start! Hello click*click*click*click! What IS that about...
Simultaneously my cell decided to put me on permanent MUTE!!! ARGGGGGGG!!!!
:| 8o| :| 8o| :| 8o| :| 8o| :|
thank the goddesses for diesel femme diva, who came to my rescue, tripleA card in hand...(random fact/did you know: in the UK tripleA is called AA!) (..the irony..)
I was jumped (not in a good way) & told it was likely my battery... the AAA man said..."uh...........(*blows off 10years of dust from battery*) how old IS this battery?"
Me: "uh.............. no clue. why? how old should it be?"
Luckily for moi, it appeared said battery death was the worst of my troubles...(today)
Soooooooooooooo after being jumped and then stalling the car and promptly losing the charge (AGAIN) - diesel femme diva managed to jump me again (this was a better jump)... though i feared for her life!!!
we then proceeded directly to autozone and bought me a new battery! Yay!
AND then began the fun experience of trying to peddle my battery and non-stopping/won't-stall-it-again-but-i-only-have-a-1/4-tank-of-petrol-audi at various fuckwittery-shops around town....
Ernies: "no! i wouldn't take hamburger meat to mcdonalds and ask them to cook it for me, now would i?" Midas: "no" Firestone: "no" Pro-lube: "NO!"
Have expensive new battery, will travel.
I had to resort to Femme-in-Distress (+ name-dropping + tearful look) at Brake King.
And et voila (even sans lippy and cleavage) I managed to find a nice boy who agreed to install my battery. (and change my oil, thankyouverymuch!)
so fellow Northamptonites ~ I will resolutely (sans reservation) recommend Rio's Brake King on Pleasant St.!!!!! Bless their cotton socks.
I also managed to get my phone working in the interim after a factory reset. Hail-A-fucking-ooo-yah!

addendum::::
re: a martiini gathering.
name the date, and i will try to be there.
one word of note: the tunnel bar, though a personal fave, is no good for groups of more than 4! they don't allow you to reconfigure their seating - so its rather awkward trying to accommodate a large group. plus, smith shall be back in session soon making it more than normally sardined.
my suggestion would be a bishop's gathering.
good cocktails - more room - less jockeying for sociable space (and just cross the street).
musicfemme ~ the Women's Fund dance is Sat. Feb 9th.
I've still not found a dress, we could co-shop! :)

MsMox, it was great to see you and S1, and I'm glad you found your cell phone! You have shoes I love but I think the ones I mentioned are sexy grown-up maryjanes owned by Lady C. I need a trip into some closet. I don't know what the hell I'm going to wear to the WtF dance. I wore everything somewhere where you all saw me at some time in the not too distant past. god.
Who mentioned being able to have drinks on Wed or Thurs? Both Mister Bone and I can make it either of those nights. Shall we say Wed night?
I prefer Lady C's suggestion of Bishops (though, where is that again? Is that downstairs in the back of what used to be Mulino's across from the courthouse?) The hotel is a little staid and bright.
Or the ones at the Jiffy Lube? :-*
Miss Can-smell-a-butch-a-mile-away, the butch you saw was a while ago. He is now an FTM named (still) Rio. And he's at Brake King. I've introduced you to him a few times.
Uh, Mister Bone, excuse me, but Holliday remembers -- it's the Jiffy Lube butch on Rte 9 in Hadley. I don't remember Rio, though it's a good all-around Butch-to-Ftm name. Is Brake King the place with the bear on the logo? (Who knows from these places?)

AHA! Now *those* are some shoes, and yes, they are the Lady's.
Wed is better than Thurs for me, and yes, the hotel is bright, isn't it? But that was a good tini that nice bartender boy (who could never find a break in the conversation)made!
Is there a bar in the nether regions of Wiggins at the hotel where the fireplace is, anyone, anyone?
Bishops used to be downstairs from where Mulino's used to be across from the Iron Horse, which has stayed put. (thank goodness, because I don't know the name of the street. I call it the horse street or the police street) Now Bishops is above from where Mulino's is now, which is in between Eastside and Pearl Street.
:s Or wait, is it what used to be Pearl Street?!
I went to Jiffy Lube on King St not too long ago....there were at least 3 women working in the pit. I didn't ask them how they ID, though. ;)
Just saw ATONEMENT. brilliant. an absolute mustsee. (and a mustfeedkeiraknightly)
Mox, off to rent a certain movie starring a younger man and a classy (?) broad.

Plowboi, thank you for the candy!! It was very nice to chat with you. Come visit us again. We can't do any of that lesbian whining: Where should we go? Can't go there, they're not scent-free. When? No, I have yoga and then have to have my EST rolfed.
And yes, MsMoxie, we stayed out so late! I liked that place. The fireplace was nice (thinking of Mister Bone's quip about the multiple pianos, fireplaces, and bars) and the bartendress was a sweetie.

And I concur! All vacuuming should be rewarded by a well made martini!

You are too funny. I'm glad you sent me a note because otherwise I would have been racking my brain! I always tell everyone to come even if they haven't read the book because there's always discussions (philosophical, moral, etc.) that result from these stories we read and everyone can contribute to that.
This one was good turn-out and good discussion. Next month's book is The History of Love by Nicole Krauss. Any of the Noho crowd that would like to carpool to our little village book club is welcome. We have members from VT, NH and MA; or maybe someone should start one there? I would come whenever possible. I think it would be even more fun if there was a book club meet-up with martinis. :D
GREETINGS!!! From everyone's favorite Chef!!
I have been traveling in Florida since the beginning of the year. A little RV with the fam. A cruise with friends, and some hot times in Key West...winter!! I love winter in Florida!
The weather is finally getting nice again. I am in St. Pete Beach... and I don't think that I want to leave for a while.

i am all about starting a book club. i have a friend who wants to start one with me, and we've yet to get it going.
i am all about introspection and expansion at the start of every new year and so am thinking about living with intention (i hate canned terms, but it fits.) and have read "give it up" about one woman's giving up one "important" thing each month of the year and see how it impacts her, for better or worse. not so well written, but it did give me pause--which was my hope. now i am onto "this i believe" from the NPR folks. just reading the foreword blew my head up and made me cry a few times. i have a whole list of things to read. i can't wait. but what really sucks is that the older i get, the less i remember of what i read--i think it's because life is so hectic that i read in bed when i am already sleepy. i need to make more room for reading and thinking.
omg. maybe i need to replace threading with reading.:|

ok, i can do wed--but if your deadline is tues, wouldn't be oh so fantabulous to celebrate the end of it on tuesday night?! or maybe, you'll need tues eve to crawl under a rock and recuperate revive and replenish?
congrats in advance for meeting your deadline tomorrow.
now if you are reading this, you are procastinating.
(cracks the taskmaster whip.)
so, everyone--wed? who's coming?
xx
Ardent, it's you! Hi! It's good to see you on the site!
This is as good a time as any to plan the next martini and game night. What do you say everyone? As of yet I have nothing happening in the evenings this week except a deadline on Tues so (d)(d)on Mon might not be wise. Otherwise ...
Shall we say,
Wed, 1/30
or
Thurs, 1/31
Northampton Hotel
Wiggins Tavern in front of the fireplace
Someone bring Apples2Apples
I'm suicidal over the demise of Scrabulous so I'm up for games.
Ha! How about more of those tres elegante Ice Cubes. :P Hope you can make it.

Drvnsnow--I don't think I'll make the drive up, but I was really moved by The History of Love. I'd be curious to hear what other folks think about it. My advice is start a family tree right off the bat.
Does everyone remember (ip)(ip)(ip)? Look closely...Yeah, that's me on the lime green surf board with the big blue daisy that says... SURF DIVA!. So... while I am away maybe you all could think about me when you are playing games in front of the fireplace and sipping martinis. Please share a toast in memory/ honor of the new SURF DIVA of Northampton. HAHA!
Noho SO needs a surf diva. (ip):D(ip)
now i am onto "this i believe" from the NPR folks. just reading the foreword blew my head up and made me cry a few times. i have a whole list of things to read. i can't wait. but what really sucks is that the older i get, the less i remember of what i read--i think it's because life is so hectic that i read in bed when i am already sleepy. i need to make more room for reading and thinking.
Msmoxie, have you checked out the two (that I know of) "This I Believe" threads on here? I like seeing what folks on the b-f website "believe." Here's a link to the one I started: http://www.butch-femme.com/portal/forums/showthread.php?t=30463

Weather and time permitting I hope to make the trip, if only to find out what Apples2Apples is, or is that are?! Miss Robin was that a subliminal message for me to bring a tray of Ice Cubes?

someone please take my dell away.
a day off in which to do chores has turned me into a posting fool.
still, i've been productive. my living room looks like the ENRON headquarters because I've been shredding ten years (no lie) of stuff for days, and my home office is taking good shape, i am reorganizing my files in my new desk. but i am going stir crazy. i never got to the DPW with my shredded history and i must go to staples to get more organzing tools. OOOH. my adventure for the day.
(whine) why can't we have tini night noooo--owwww-oowwww?????
i am pulled to this damn site like a magnet.
out, damn site, out!

:'(:'(:'(WHAT?!? No more Scrabulous? It's still available on Facebook when last I checked. Eep.
When you actually try to play a game it says they're working on making the site more efficient, but there is a lawsuit against them by Hasbro and Mattel so I'm thinking they had to put the site on hold until it's resolved. I'm really sad.

I really liked that book. I love that you have a book club! I would really like to have one down here (I know I can't travel up for one).
GREETINGS!!! From everyone's favorite Chef!!

:'( I'm not going to make my deadline. At a certain point I just glaze over and can't write anymore. I'm aiming for Wed and then Wed night I'll be the femme zombie at Apples2Apples night, staring at the fire saying, "oh it's my turnnnnn .... (snore <--- Mister Bone is a pro at that). I envy you being productive today, MsM, and writing profoundly to the site.

Today I'm in MA but tomorrow I'm in northern VT so won't be able to join the fun (unless something changes). Keep me posted about the book club though! I'll keep up with whatever books you choose and if the meetings are during the week I think I could make it.
I belong to 2 book clubs in VT - one through the library that focuses on literary fiction and the lesbian book club that I recently started heading up which focuses on women writers only. I read a lot and I love book clubs.
MsMoxie, thanks for the tip on History of Love!
Have a great day everyone!

Hi Bri
Sorry you can't make it tomorrow night. The History of Love is one of my all time fav novels. I read it on a plane headed to Europe.
So I'd love to have you and Bruno join us for one of this shindigs. Say hi to him.
