For those may not remember me, I'm Satins cousin and I think Butch #23 or so on the block at the Butch Auction. A new group has been formed to cover all the butches and femmes across ontario.
Though I have been sworn to secrecy, let me say this group promises to be fun and interactive with something for everyone.

Hello Bois and Grrls!

Now that spring has officially arrived, plans are in the works for the Second Annual Rochester Butch-Femme Brunch and Fishing Bash! The dates this year are Saturday, July 10th for the dinner/dancing the night before and Sunday, July 11th for the brunch and fishing/pier gathering. And yes, this again will be Rochester's Pride Weekend! (the picnic being on the Sunday). The overwhelming response we got from those who attended was: change the restaurant on Sat. night, the brunch was fabulous!!

Last year's event was a tremendous success - for those of you who didn't get to see it yet, Satin put together a lovely website of pictures (Satin, could you enlighten us again with the URL? Thank you!). Other pictures are on butch-femme.com's FabuEast page thanks to the lovely and talented Lady Merrick!... search also on FabuEast under Rochester (thanks again!)

We had a dinner the night before which was attended by about 20 people and the brunch was attended by about 35. The next day, we went to brunch at Golden Ponds Restaurant and then headed out as a group to Charlotte Pier (about 10-15 mins. drive) for a few hours of freshwater fishing/hanging out! The pier was overrun with butches and femmes and we had a GREAT time!!

My computer crashed last winter so I unfortunately lost a lot of the original documentation on this gathering but I am confident that we can pull this together!! So.. if you know someone who went to this gathering last year, please take the time to e-mail them a note about this year's event and have them e-mail me if they didn't receive this... that way I can make sure I get as many of last year's people as possible, as there were many who had to cancel at the last minute. I am also going to open up a thread on this gathering on bf.com this year (as was suggested last year) under the Forum: The Butch-Femme Planet: New York Butches and Femmes: 2nd Annual Rochester Brunch/Fishing Bash 7/10-11/04!

Here's the scoop so far:

1. Brunch: By popular demand, our private room has been reserved again for brunch at Golden Ponds Restaurant and Party House for 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 11th. This event is pay-your-own-way and is an all you can eat breakfast and lunch buffet for $9.95 a person which is *very* reasonable considering the quality (and the quantity!) of the foods offered.... made to order omelettes, lots of breakfast nosh, lunch items.... as many mentioned last year, if you leave hungry it's your own fault! www.goldenponds-memories.com for menu and directions. This date and room HAS been reserved.

We need a minimum of 35 people to hold the room so if I could start getting RSVP's soon that would be fabulous!!

2. Dinner and Night Out: Dinner will be held on Saturday, July 10th. This year our lovely femme Barb aka Artbybabz recommended Roncone's Italian Restaurant, located on East Avenue in downtown Rochester (easy to get to from the highway, lots of parking). The price ranges about $15-25 a head for supper (not incl. tip/tax/alc. beverages) and it is an elegant restaurant with a private party room way in the back (which is where we will be having our gathering). I gave them an estimate of 15-30 people and am waiting on a response to confirm the room and minimum number of persons required to hold it.

The food is excellent and they are willing to cook to order, which is great for those of us on sugar-free/tomato-free/etc. restricted food plans. And of course the traditional italian fare is fabulous... especially the lasagna!

I also had a suggestion from Jay which I wanted to share with the group for those interested:

"Maybe this year you could also mention that the Casino is open on the US side and open areas of the lake for wildlife watching/hanging. I'm not into fishing and maybe there are others who would enjoy a different Saturday/Sunday venture prior to dinner.
The same place for brunch would be nice as they were very accomodating and pleasant. It was kind of close to the lake as well."

Wondering thoughts on tattoo places in the toronto area. I've been told about Abstract on queen st, and Stinger in richmond hill.

What im lookin for is an experienced, reputable, clean, health conscious place. It's my first tattoo and i want it done correctly.

I'd also like someone to go with. First experience ya know, and im a bit scared so i dont think i could go it alone. Plus it would be nice for someone to show me around toronto. I personally do not want to move to the states although Fl is warm almost all year round. But I am too proud of my Canadian heritage and worry about the health care system down there. There are many other factors that is all on the minus side as to why I dont wanna go with the company. Besides I am looking forward for time of in the Summer and just chillin and enjoying my summer. I am looking forward to a new job with hopfully a Canadian company this time. I look forward to the challenge of my next place of employment. So the thing is this layoff is a big relief and all good. My wonderful wife Rugged has suggested that we all gather in front of the DJ's booth on the top deck of the ship. It is central and easy for everyone to find!

We have an incredible turnout of FABOntario members for this event and it is going to be an AMAZING TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dates: Sat/Sun August 6th & 7th

What to bring: Something for Rugged to char on the q!
Whatever you want to drink.
Jammies, bathing suit & towel

What you should know: We have MANY pets so if this is your first time to our home and you have allergies bring meds!

The swimming is clothing optional.

We have a huge yard with room for tents so please feel free to camp out in the yard if you choose.

We have space for approximately 4 guests in the house which we generally save for anyone with problems sleeping outdoors.

We supply Sunday brunch for anyone sleeping over!


We had a great turn out last year and are hoping for even more this year! I will be posting a sign up sheet within the next couple weeks. Only those signing up will be given the address and directions so get your name on the list as soon as possible!!!!
