Miss Selket, now there is a good idea ...if I can get them out of the bed long enough to teach them. You know I call them the "Geriatrics." Heh Heh! They sleep all the time. Well, they are pretty old now and need their beauty rest.

<winking back at you>
(PC, as you call him, told me to quit winking at everyone but I cannot resist winking back at you.)

MfgtZzzzzzzzzzz......WHAT!?? did I hear the words bubblebath??
(Sitting up and looking around. Stretching and checking my cowlick...yawn)

Miss lonstarfemme I would help you draw your bubblebath...but it might be hard on a boi like me since Sunny and Tommi would make me wear a blindfold!! (6) Anyway I'd wanna stay and help you wash your back and such and that would be hard since I wouldn't be able to see!
(just kidding!! looking for Tommi and Sunny..where'd those bois go anyway?)

Thanks everyone for being so quite and for letting me sleep!! And thanks for all the great scrumpious goodies!! (Patting belly)
I was tired and needed the rest. (waving at Selket and Silly Poet ) Did I miss anybody?

I'm going to drag out my easel and paints and do some portriats of you beauties...in the meantime..you can check out my web page and see some of my other artwork and decide if I'm qualified to draw you!
(Getting up and walking over to see if there is anything left to eat before I start sketching..)

Good Morning Everyone!

PC, I've just come from your web site and I do love your talent and sense of humor! The one about 69 Lavender lane is fantastic! Do you have a strip that is published to a wide audiance?

Good Morning Sillypoet! Jade is sooooo cute! But I bet that puppy is a handful! I amy have missed this somewhere in the conversation, but what is her breed? Is she a lab?

Tommy - I am sorry to hear about the demise of your relationship. Better days are indeed on the way.

Hi grlfun, I don't believe we have met. Always nice to meet new people.

It's Superbowl eve and I have just found out who is playing. I like the team with the red white and blue uniforms. Gosh I hope the halftime show is decent this year. For the past few years I thought it was lacking. Is everyone going to Superbowl parties?

Well I must be off...homework beckons as do the tennis courts. have a kel weekend!

Good afternoon, selket! Thank you - she is a rotty/lab mix. She looks all black when you first see her, but when you look closer you can see some of the brown when she is in the sun. I love my baby Jade! I got her from the SPCA when she was 8 weeks old and couldn't imagine not having her. She's like another child - a really heavy, strong two-year old to be exact. :$

*waves to everyone*

No Super Bowl party plans. After the last football game I watched (LSU & OU) my girls informed me I'm not allowed to watch football unless I promise not to jump up and down and yell. :$ My team lost...I was cheering for OU (college ball). Besides, the game is here in Texas this year, so I'll be staying close to home. I'm so thankful I don't live close to Houston - I won't have to deal with the traffic. :)

Off to finish Tax reports....

*sings* accounting I will go....

I absolutely LOVE Ebb Tide and Unforgettable, both! :)

Elsbeth, hope you feel better, sweetie.

Ohhh...you're all back!!

Thank you bit!! That cartoon about short dykes was because I'm short, and that's how I feel when I'm dancing with someone taller!
I been busy in the other room working on these portraits. (undraping my work so all can see..)

Da DAH!! Here's my painting!!

(In vivid reds, blues and assorted lively colors: It's Elsbeth, selket, bit and lonestarrfemme grouped together.
Lonestarrfemme is on a couch in a semi reclining position facing me. Bit, and selket are leaning on the back of the couch framing lonestarrfemme. elsbeth is sitting on the floor in front of the couch with all the dogs grouped 'round. And everyone is in a smiling and pleasant pose)

Did I get the skin tone and hair colors right? Eyes, clothes..??
I put all 4 of you beauties together in one painting, I hope you don't mind!

Good Morning Everyone!

Allright, what is everyones opinion of the Superbowl? More importantly, which commercial did you find to be the cutest?

(Laughing to myself)
I thought the one about the little burro who wanted to pull the Budwiser wagon was too cute. I didn't find out who actually won the game till this morning. I admit it..I fell asleep in the third quarter.

PC I do love the painting...it is lovely! Elsbeth, how was class and are you feeling better? Welcome back bit.

WOW a rottie/lab mix! Big..big...big! I'm not close to Houston either. It must have been crazy there. (laughing at your comment about not being allowed to watch football) My friends don't let me watch too much football either...they say I ask too many questions and that the color of the uniforms is NOT an indicator of how well a team plays. I really have to disagree with them...I mean how can a team that is wearing red, white and blue lose? (jk)

I actually posted this in the music thread first...It's something I pulled off of the newswire...

Jethro's He is now a She...

If you were a fan of Jethro Tull, you might remember the keyboardist David Palmer. The 66-year-old rocker underwent a sex change and is now Dee Palmer. Keep an eye out, you might find her soon on the charts. Dee is recording a debut solo album in Spain now.

Thank you for you praise on my painting, Miss selket!

As for the Superbowl, I was working, so I missed all but the last 2 or 3 minutes, but got to see the Patriot's hitting a 41-yard field goal with four seconds left for a 32-29 win over Carolina!

Are you feeling better today Elsbeth? I sure hope so!!

It's funny you should post this because just a few weeks back I watched one of those medical miracle shows where they showed transgender operations and the steps one has to go through to get to the surgery. Palmer was one of the persons featured. He/she got alot of moral support from the band and even played with them dressed as a woman before his operation.

WOW! I didn't know it was that close! I can't believe it came down to a field goal. Talk about pressure! And he made it? Very kewl...since he missed two earlier in the game. Oh well, he performed under pressure and that is all that counts.

The commercial with the bears was soooo funny! I have to admit that pepsi did a great jobs with their ads this year.

What did everyone think of the half-time show?

The pressure was there alright. There were 9 seconds left, and the Patriots' needed a 41-yard field goal from Vinatieri, who beat the Rams two years ago with just such a kick. Yeah, you're absolutely right,he had missed his first two tries - one flew wide right, one was partially blocked - and wasted a chance to put New England ahead and get the early momentum. So when he lined up that football one can only imagine what was in his mind as far as pressure!

I didn't get to see the half time show. How was it?

I thought it was ok...I like Ms. Jackson and Justin Timberlake. I could have done without PDiddy and I had a bit of a tough time hearing Kid Rock, although I have always enjoyed him. I remember the days when they had one or two artists doing the whole half-time show which made it more of a show than something that resembles a group of album clips. But I did enjoy it....I am a fan of good dancing at which both Ms. Jackson and Mr. Timberlake excel.

Shaking hands with PC ... good to see you, Bro!

Janet Jackson = Hot, Hot, Hot at halftime!

The donkey pulling the wagon was my favorite commercial. He was so cute, I could love him to pieces!

So Miss Selket picks her team by the color of their uniforms, huh?

I'm having a interesting afternoon. I've been over here in the corner working on one of my computers. Got a hard drive issue..so I just poked my head up and came to ATTENTION when I heard you mention FOOD..and then smelled that scumpious roast cooking!!
Do ya think a boi might get a slice of that..??? Maybe just a wee slice..Miss Silly Poet?

*trying to look innocent and deserving* :)

Now how could I say no to that?

*smiles, laughs softly*

The best way to a Butches heart is thru the tummy. ;)
I might even allow you a slice of home made cornbread. Not sure what the dessert will be...any suggestions?

The domestic chores are calling my name then more homework. I'll check back later...with a plate just for you in hand PC.

I always cook far more than I should - old habits die hard ya know, I come from a family of 14. :s

Omigod, cornbread too!! Yep, yer right, a way to a butch'es heart is usually through the belly!! Although...there's other ways too when it comes to a femme..
*winking*

Let's see desert...hmmmm...how about strawberry shortcake!
With real homemade shortcake and fresh sliced berrys with real whipped cream!! Yowza!!
Miss Sillypoet, what ever you decide will be just dandy with me..
* reaching up and slicking back my cowlick and trying to remain calm...but it's hard when I'm presented with BOTH a beautiful femme AND good food TOO!* :$

I am back now ... romping, stomping and strutting ... Gosh, I feel so much better today. Thanks to everyone for their words of concern - I am fine now.

lonestarfemme52, thank you for the coffee yesterday morning. How is your grand-daughter? So the two of you had to have a "primp party" (you mentioned make-up) before she could watch 101 Dalmations, huh? LOL ... Lest the doggies would be mad ... Heh Heh!

Miss Selket, congrats on the interview and the job offer .... would you like a congratulatory spanking? If my memory serves me well, I think you quite enjoyed the one I gave you earlier in this thread ... <pulling your skirt up ... pulling down your ... > PusCdriven and Tommi - quit gawking!!! Geez! <taking Miss Selket by the arm to somewhere private to administer her spanking> laughing hard now ...

Wondering how Miss Elsbeth's classes went this past weekend and if she is over her sickness. Thinking she sure does a lot of papers. After 4 grad classes, I quit for 2 reasons. Primarily because I hate writing papers and that is just about all we did in grad school. The other reason is because I got LAZY! That is my story and I am sticking to it! Heh! Heh!

Waving at Sillypoet! How are you today? I'll take the trash out anytime - regardless of the temperature. Not a femme task, for sure! Sniffing the air ... is that roast I smell? Didn't I hear you make mention of roast? Need some help with it? <Crowding in close against Sillypoet at the stove and peering over her shoulder at the roast> Cornbread too? <Sunny is now thinking he has fallen in love> Would someone go wake up my buddy, PusCdriven, and tell him it is time to eat?

Hello my friend! I never know if you have left or if you're off sleeping in a corner somewhere but I try to remember to get you in on the "good stuff" when I know about it <smiling>

Yes, I am feeling rather frisky today!

Isn't it remarkable how just the mere thought of giving a pretty femme (like Miss Selket over there) a good spanking brings the horns out of us? Heh Heh! I am still thinking it ... and thinking it ... and thinking it ...

Awww, you are a real pal, PusCdriven!! I just did not feel well but it is all good now!

I am with you, PC, where is everyone? You think Miss Selket is still out shopping? Bet she is out buying more than just pumps.

Wondering if she is stopping off at Victoria's Secret ... those sheer, pale pink panties I took off her when I spanked her sure are pretty ... hmmm ... Reaching in my pocket and taking the pink panties out, looking at them again and wondering if she has missed them by now ... Hope I don't get scolded! If I do, it was worth it and much, much more. Looking around, stuffing panties back in my pocket. LOL!

Yikes, I might be making too much mischief in here ... wondering why I always seem to have to press things to the edge.

You are probably correct, Sillypoet. Thanks for the pulling me back in. I am sincerely sorry. I guess I just got a little carried away there. No more panty talk in this thread from this butch! The last thing I want to do is run all you femmes away. We are having too much friendly fun in here.

Your art quilt sounds very imagative and interesting, and I'm sure very well colored and beautiful.

Good luck with your cross cultural art work. I'd like to know what you come up with! Will you tell me what it's like when you're finished?

* handing miss Elsbeth some cookies*

What about me? Hmmmm...I always have several projects bubbling in the back ground. I'm working on a comic book about Butch-Femme. But it's still in the planning and idea stage. No actual drawings yet.
Plus I have a stack of sketches for a cartoon strip I want to do called "Trailer Park Trash".
Then I'm getting geared up to teach some classes for 9-12 year olds on pen & ink drawing and another one on making your own comic book. All community classes through my local Parks & Recreation.

Nothing very heady, but this stuff keeps me outa trouble...and I enjoy it

I am sincerely sorry for going way over the line yesterday with my teasing about the spanking AND the panties stuff ... though I meant no harm, it was very tasteless as well as tacky ... I hope you will find it in your heart to accept my apologies ... I wish I could erase it all. There is no excuse for this! I'll do better, you will see.

Good morning everyone! Or is it afternoon? First of all I want to thank everyone for thier kind words and congratulations. It was very nice of you to think of me. Yes, I went shopping yesterday for pumps….navy, burgundy, brown and of course…black. And although I really didn’t need any new corporate garments….but well, I just couldn’t help myself. Neiman’s was having a wonderful sale and the fabrics were so rich I just couldn’t resist! Then I spent the rest of the day at the spa, followed by an evening with a friend at an Irish Tavern watching soccer and discussing whether Condelezza Rice will be asked to become the Secretary of State when Powell steps down (provided he does step down which I am betting he will.)

It’s funny you guys would mention Victoria’s Secret…(as if you needed any prompting in that area)…but to be honest…Victoria’s Secret shopping exploits aren’t for public knowledge and neither is a discussion of “crotchless” panties. That is a bit garish don’t you think?

(Holding up an index finger a la Julia Sugarbaker and keeping you at arms length) Thank you Sunny but no….my bottom is not yours to spank. (turning my hand over so that the flat of my palm is exposed) Now give me back my….dare I say the word…panties and stay out of my dresser drawers!

Lonestarfemme – You are feeling bad? Why? What can we do to help? Would you like to talk about it? (giving you a hug)

Elsbeth I am so glad you are feeling better! Your class sounds incredibly interesting! Cross Cultural Counseling. Is this an enhancement class or are you in a specific degree program? Tell us about it. I for one am very curious.

Bit – Three hours on three buses and a mile walk? WOW! That is a trek. Where do you get the energy? Better yet….isn’t there an easier way?

Sillypoet – Hun you must have everyone in your community, or at least every Butch, knocking at your door! Pot Roast….actually may I have an invite? (laughing gently to myself)

I hope I didn't miss anyone...

I'm off to get a few things done and have a quick run in the pool. I'll see all of you a little later today!

(wandering out and leaving a large carafe of freshly brewed coffee, a platter of home fries, fluffy scrambled eggs and maple link sausage for everyone to enjoy.)

Oh Sunny that is soooo sweet. But it really isn't necessary...honest. I do think that those types of discussions are better left to the guy threads because they tend to get out of hand. But there is honestly no harm done.

Please let me reinterate to all the wonderful , incrediable and very talented femmes here, I'm sorry for over stepping the line.
A femmes honor and reputation should always be foremost in mind as well as seriously guarded by any self repecting butch. My apologies for letting that ideal slip and for allowing myself to indulge in a tacky and tasteless mode.

Dear femmes, whether you were offended or not, or whether you laffed, or quirked an eyebrow, or threw in some comment to fan the flame, is irrevelate. I should have maintained my gallantry, pose and style in your behalf as befitting your station!!

That is the old style butch that I am, and I am ashamed for letting my standard down. Handing each of you a lovely single (f)

Giving everyone here a very W-A-R-M gentlemanly hug

Thank you, miss selket!

Looking at all the lovely pumps you bought...

Morning everyone! (c)

I have an interview this afternoon with a temporary agency and I am very nervous...for now. :$ As most of you know from friends and family that have been on the hunt (for a job) the market has very slim pickings. Wish me luck! I will let you all know how it goes once I hear back from them - hopefully soon. I have a very good feeling about this, the woman I spoke with repeated many times that my resume' and work history are very impressive (no pressure there). Although I have enjoyed the freedoms of free-lance work, contract work, I actually miss the intensity of the corporate office environment.

No, I will not be shopping later for new pumps for those that may ask. I am more likely to take my daughters to a celebration dinner or buy them a new outfit. Or take my four-legged children to Petsmart on a shopping spree. :$

I'm off to prepare...enjoy your day!

:)

Good Morning Sillypoet!

i didn't know you were searching for a position. May I ask what type of work it is that you do? And what are you searching for? I also see that you are in Texas...may I ask what part? Perhaps you would rather PM me with that information. I may have something of interest for you.

Hi Miss Elsbeth! Good to see you. Are you through with your antibiotics yet? I'll bet those art projects are fun. You asked about my grad school - it was for computer science (same as my bachelor's) ... When I was working on my undergrad degree, we mostly did software (programming) projects. I loved it! Not true in the grad classes. It was mostly papers in the master's program. Oh well, no worries ... By the way, you will never have to remind me to keep my hands to myself in here. I know I goofed up yesterday and got carried away but from now on, I am on my best behavior. ;) I have smoothed it over the best I know how and now I just want to put it behind me.

stonecoldangle, the freshly baked peaches and cream cake is out of this world - delicious! Thank you. <smiles>

Oh Miss Bit, glad to see you back. Waving at you!

PC, are you going to PM me and tell me about your deal last night? I want details and don't skimp on the good parts! <LOL>

Hello Victoria!

Sillypoet, my best to you on your interview! I'll be pulling for you to find something you really like.

Okay - interview went VERY well. I got my ego stroked - I love to be complimented on my best feature - my mind. ;)

No guarantees of anything, but the odds look good - I'm happy.

Thank you all for the well wishes! selket, I sent you a PM with the answers to your inquiries - you are awesome for offering to help, thank you.

Now I am going to exchange my heels for slippers and water for a nice cup of hot chocolate - its rainy and cold here today - blah. I am so glad my evening meeting has been cancelled! :$

Hope everyone is feeling better today - no one is allowed to get sick in here anymore, miss you too much!

Very, very good, Sillypoet!

Well, I am on my way out. Just about time to leave work and go home. My kitty was hit and killed by a car this morning before I came to work and I have sucked it up and held it in about all I can for today. She is in heaven now with God.

Thank you, Miss Silly Poet!

I received some bad news today as well. I have had a case pending with my states Human Rights Commission for just slightly under a year. Today I got a call from the case mgr. who said his decision was that he could find no evidence of any human rights violation by the company I used to work for and he was closing my file.

(Which only proves to me one more time that we have HRC idiots like this who shuffle papers around and play with peoples lives, with little or no regard to how their decisions effect the people they are supposed to be helping.)

This raised the question, inspite of all the paperwork I had: How does one actually P_R_O_V_E human rights violations anyway short of having a dead body?

This decision came as a real shock to me since I had given the HRC reames of documentation showing a pattern of retalitory actions perpetrated against me by this company, and which ultimately ended in my unjust termination in March of last year.
My ex-supervisor had also given witness to the fact that everything that happened to me was true and that I had done nothing wrong to be terminated for. I had a 5 year absolutely sterling record with this company, and yet they chose to hang me out to dry because I uncovered some unethical, illegal and discrimatory actions by one of the area VP's and reported it to the company ALERT line.

The long and the short of it is, I'm mad as hell and will not give up. I immediately called the HRC and left a message with the case workers supervisor since I feel the guy is totally incompetent.
But whatever, my next move is filing with the EEOC and ultimately a civil rights attorney.
Any suggestions, comments or help from you all will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you for that, Sunny. To take the time right now to say that...means a lot. I hope your evening was better than this morning.

(f)

PC...I don't know what to tell you about your situation. I just hope that it is resolved soon and in your favor. I voluntarily left my prior job for many reasons - mainly because of my supervisor who happens to be a VP for the company. The owner called me directly and asked what it would take to get me back - I had the chance to stir it up then and chose not to. For me, leaving was the only option. Bit cowardly some say - but fighting isn't always the answer. Fighting would have done nothing but hurt a good company - my old boss would have won for sure then. You did the right thing and it is great that you are sticking to it. I think the EEOC is definitely the right decision. Wishing you the best!

Night everyone...it's been a long day. A good one, but very long.

Good Morning PC….

I read your post about your case being dismissed by the HRC and thought that maybe…just maybe I could shed some light. Just going on the tiny bit of information in your post I gather that you uncovered enthical practices by an area VP and reported it using the companies supplied ALERT procedures. The result of this was that you wee the subject of unfair and retaliatory actions which resulted in your termination. If this is correct then the caseworker for the HRC was correct in telling you that there was no evidence of human rights violations by the company. Now if the company has dismissed you because of your sexual preferences…that is another story. But from what you have stated that is not the case. The correct place for your complaint is with the EEOC. I would also suggest that you contact an attorney who specializes in wrongful termination….not one who specializes in Civil Rights. What your company has done is attempt to set a precedence for whistleblowers (which is what you are) and that, my friend is wrongful termination….not civil rights. You should also retain the attorney now and have them working in conjunction with the EEOC. As your case progresses you will also need to file with the Department of labor for salary withheld. I am sure there is more to the story and I am more than willing to discuss it with you.

Thank you for this information, Miss selket. I believe that I was innocently misled or possibly misunderstood what I should of done in the very beginning of this mess. When I filed for unemployment a year ago, and immediately after I was let go, the employment office said i should file my 'wrongful termination' compliaint with the HRC immeiately, which I did. Apparently they also work in conjunction with the EEOC. I also contacted a local attorney, but could not persue a civil case until the HRC & EEOC completed their foundings.
Apparently the the EEOC has to actually give me a written authorization letter, a "right to sue" in the case that HRC and the EEOC find nothing to base my claims on. I just spoke to HRC this am and was told that I should call the EEOC and request that they take over the case since I am not happy with what the case worker with HRC decided.
To tell you the truth I am more than a little confused and pissed that a year has gone by and I still do not have any concrete desicion in my favor after the jerking around I got by my company.

I would love to talk to you more about this if you have the time!

The HRC does indeed work in conjunction with the EEOC BUT the HRC is really not applicable in your case. The "Right to Sue" letter you are talking about is something the EEOC gives to every complaintant for which they are unable to help. In other words, if the EEOC tells you that they can find no wrongdoing by the company they will give you a "Right to Sue" letter which they will suggest you take to a lawyer. You can bet your bottom dollar that your former employer will use the fact that the EEOC and the HRC found no wrongdoing to their advantage. This letter is usually given when they think a person would like to persue civil litigation. Note in this instance the use of the word "civil" equates with monitary compensation. It's their way of saying...."if you get a great lawyer that can sway a jury..." I am not sure what city or state you are in...nor do I know the size of the company you are dealing with BUT your first step is to determine how much of your own money and time you are willing to spend on this. If you really have a case it won't cost much because wrongful termination attorneys love to burn big businesses...provided they have a case. But you will need to at least get someone to listen to you. Some of the best wrongful termination attorneys have junior lawyers working for them that will listen and then confer with the lead attorneys on your case. More than likely you will have to pay for the consultation.

I know this is a really brief overview (I'm running out the door) but I will be back late today or early tomorrow. I am willing to bet that we have a few HR Generalists on this site as well as a few law students that would love to discuss this also.

How is everyone today? I have several papers to do and I am currently stuck on where else to go with it - so it's break time. So I'm coming in here to stir-up more trouble - seems to be what I do best at this moment. (6)

So...the Valentine Holiday is fast approaching - was just curious what everyone's thoughts were? Do you celebrate the Holiday?

Personally, I don't (don't faint Butches - it's okay, really) not beyond exchanging cards and little gifts with my girls anyway. Keep in mind that I am currently taking Sociology and just finished a Psychology course...I have educational reasons for asking. :$

Hmmm..I usually don't celebrate Valentines day, unless I'm in a relationship, which I'm not. Sooo it's a day that just comes and goes for me now.
2 years ago, I was in a relationship and I took my grrl to a dinner show and then we spent the night at a premo downtown hotel.
Watched Lord of the Rings, ordered room service and made love all night....

May I ask why it is a holiday that you reserve only for a partner? I mean, I realize that Valentine's Day is a day for lovers, but is it not also a celebration of love - for all, including family? IS this one of those strange social norm scenarios where we choose to stay within certain criteria in fear that sliding out of the safety of the norm we may in fact upset or cause someone to question us?

Hmmmm, pondering all angles and absolutely fascinated - thank you for answering PC!

Thats a good question. I actually never concider Valentines day as a family or friends 'thing.' Interesting....huh? I suppose I am socially programed to think of it only in terms of a lover.

(Coming in with 2 big platters covered in aluminum foil ...)

Help yourself everyone! There's barbequed chicken and barbequed pork chops ... and I cooked it real slow ... there are some other things that are better done s-l-o-w-l-y too ;)

(going into the kitchen with a 10 pound bag of potatoes and putting them on the counter ... peeling potatoes now ...)

The mashed potatoes will be ready in a bit ... I cooked the meat out on the grill but I waited to make the potatoes here - so they would be hot when we ate...

(giving Jade a doggie biscuit)

Quit looking so shocked, Sillypoet. I can cook SOME things. <grinning> And if you want to crowd me here in the kitchen - I won't mind a bit! Heh Heh! (6)

Everyone, thanks for the kind words about my Miss Kitty. I appreciate all of you.

Hey Bro!!
*Plopping down 3 large long loaves of french/garlic bread, then grabbing another paring knife to help Sunny with the potatoes*

Wow, that barbequed chicken and barbequed pork chops ..sure smells good!! BTW...Since I moved into this thread...I think I've gained 6 lbs!

*((((poppin off another button on my trousers..)))))*

I'll put the french bread in the oven later so it'll be piping hot when we eat!! I'll make my famous salad too. Lots of greens and slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. I'll also make another regular salad for those who want to choose what goes in theirs..since some don't want onions and stuff like that!

No offense taken at all, PC. And I do promise to go easy on ya when tackling. I come from a big family and was raised around some tough guys - didn't have the benefit of being pampered. I can fend for myself very well and I can play just as rough.

Sillypoet I believe you asked about celebrating Valentines Day?

Personally I don't celebrate Valentines Day in the conventional way by spending money or expecting it be spent on me. (I know, I know...turn in my femme card) But here is how I view things.

Society puts a lot of pressure on those who identify as masculine oriented to spend an inordinate amount of money on trinkets and red roses to profess that they have a crush, are facinated or are in love with a particular person on Valentine's Day. Everything is marked up at least 500% in an effort to convince us that a red rose (or whatever else) means more on that particular day. I find that everyday is an opportunity to show the person I am with how much I care about them and I have always asked the person I am involved with not to purchase something for me in observance of that day. I would much rather He make something or share a thought He has never shared before. Better yet He can simply thank me for being me. I learned this a long time ago when a friend of mine was terminated from his postion with a large corporation. It was in january and he and his wife were really struggling. It was tough for him because he had always been the provider. They had it all...big house, fancy cars, two kids in college etc. Anyway, he was really torn up over the fact that he couldn't take his wife on a cruise for Valentines day....heck he couldn't even buy her a rose. he and I were chatting and as I sat there, listening to him he started to cry. As he cried he just let his emotions go and spilled such wonderful thoughts about his wife. I told him he should tell her but he was the big burly type who never, ever did things like that. I hit upon a plan (I have way too many ideas for one person.) Anyway I went to one of the discount stores and scoured the clearance rack for a nice piece of english bone china. Found the perfect piece for .49 cents. Then I grabbed a piece of linen paper and fashioned his thoughts into a poem. I burned the edges of the paper and stuck it onto the plate. He was beside himself but embarrassed to give it to her because...well he thought it paled in comparrison to a cruise. But I'll tell you....It has been 6 years and she still has that plate in her curio cabinet displayed on a little stand. Oh he found another position and they are running all over the world again...but she points to that plate as the best thing she has ever received from her husband. I haven't seen them for a year now but I have a feeling she still has that plate. So...no conventional celebrations for me. I like the idea of it being just another opportunity to show how much I care about someone.

Hi Joy! Welcome!...and no...you aren't the only femme who doesn't cook so well. I don't think I'm a great cook at all. I mean I can follow a recipie (which I love to do) and I spend a great deal of time in the kitchen...but I don't think my cooking is exceptional. I do however make a mean white chocolate cheesecake.

I was up a little late last night working on a couple of things and I saw a flash advertising that show American Idol. I'm not much of a television person but I couldn't help but notice there is an openly gay person among the contestants. I'm sure there is a thread around here somewhere about it but what has bothered me is that there seem to be a few negative remarks about this woman made by a couple of the judges. If I am correct Simon said, she is "obviously a confused person" and Paula said she is a "tortured person." What in the world were the two of them thinking? Oh heck...she has my vote...just because. Wouldn't it be totally lovely if she actually won the whole thing?

PC, hope you can keep these buttons on a bit longer...might be a good idea to just use these as work pants from now on.

lonestarfemme, my thoughts are with you, I do hope that you are feeling better again soon.

I'm off to hit the books and write my papers now...see you all later!

stonecoldangel, peach cobbler? OMG. I have a friend who cooks those, they are my absolute favorite pie ... I am always bugging her about when is she going to make another peach pie ... Heh Heh! I bet she gets tired of me asking her that question. Seriously!

Spooning some of your pie in a bowl to take home with me. I will nuke it tonight and think of you! <smiles>

Tommi, I do hope you are feeling better. Just continue to go out and be with friends.

Have a nice weekend and thanks for the pie, stonecoldangel!

See everyone Monday and have a safe weekend! In a few minutes it will be time to bring this machine down and go home.

PC, hope you can keep these buttons on a bit longer...might be a good idea to just use these as work pants from now on.

lonestarfemme, my thoughts are with you, I do hope that you are feeling better again soon.

I'm off to hit the books and write my papers now...see you all later!

selket, Elsbth, lonestarefemme, joybro, bit...good luck with the Butches - think they are feeling a bit frisky this Friday. ;)

Everyone enjoy your weekend!

Don't strain your eyes doing all that paper work now miss Silly Poet!! Your eyes are to pretty to be black and blue and red from all that work.

Good Morning PC..

It's not quite that glamorous ...actually not by a longshot! But yest I do wear business suits to work, as do most of the professional women here at B-F.com. Yes I carry a brief case...well of sorts.

Hello, my Friends!

I have missed you fine people!

It is fun coming in here and reading everyone's posts. I have not been online since last Friday afternoon when I signed off from my desk pc at work. Plus, I took an R&R day yesterday from work.

I spent most of my day off with my 2 little canine critters. They are so spoiled! I am certain they realize they have me wrapped around their little paws! Such funny antics they possess! And they are so transparent which makes them even more endearing. They "play off" each other regarding "mischief-making tactics" almost as well as my pal, PC, and I. Heh Heh ... <smiling and waving at PC>

<coming in with some pasteries, making some fresh coffee>

Trying to stifle a big yawn, looking down at Jade ... What a sweet doggie he is, indeed! Jade yawns too. He looks a little sleepy-eyed.

Thinking it is so quiet in here. I believe I will just take a quick nap until someone drops in ... diving onto the sofa ... Jade crawls up on the sofa right up against me ... Oh, Jade is a good snuggler! Heh Heh!

<Jade and Sunny, piled up on the sofa ... waiting on friends ... falling asleep ... Zzzzzzz ...>

*Waking up, pulling blanket off Jade and I, sitting up – rubbing eyes … reaching over and waking up Jade … standing up and stretching, slipping into jeans …*

Is that lasagna and cherry cheesecake I smell?

*Throwing a pillow at PC over there in the corner …*

Wake up, Buddy – it will soon be time to eat! Miss lonestarfemme52 brought some good stuff.

*Hearing PC grunt a couple of times and see him roll back over. Hoping his headache is gone – trips to the eye doctor can bring one on.*

*Pouring some grape Kool-Aid in a “to go cup” … Putting Jade’s lease on her and taking her out for a few minutes … *

Miss lonestar, you should be resting instead of bringing us food. PC is a good Mr. Fix-It on the personal computers, as long as you give him a hammer and a crowbar. Heh Heh! I will ask him to look at yours if I can ever get him up.

*Upon returning … placing a bowl of dog food in front of Jade and changing her water … setting out plates for everyone …going over and shaking PC … coming back and spooning lasagna into the plates … leaning over Miss Elsbeth, retrieving her plate … How much do you want, Miss Elsbeth? Tell me when is too much … <wink>

Miss Sillypoet, I have no idea whether I am a charmer or not. I let the femmes decide that one. Though, I do try hard. If you want to think that way about me, then it certainly pleases me. <smiling at you> When is your little girl’s birthday? Well, don’t melt your brain studying. Do take frequent breaks and get up, stir around. Oh, and thanks for the blanket – that was very kind and thoughtful of you to cover Jade and I. It was getting a little nippy … In an effort to stay warm, Jade and I were hugging up too tight on each other to be comfortable …

Miss Selket will join us soon I hope. She said yesterday that she is supposed to be getting Internet at work – she does not have it now and does not know how long it will take to get it. Also, I’ll bet she is tired after work. Oh, the joys of learning a new job! I am certain she is acclimating very well to her new surroundings and that her new work friends are enjoying having her (and her positive attitude) with them. <cheering Miss Selket and her new job …she is looking terrific in those new pumps and corporate attire>

PC, I know those liquid brown eyes just pierce your heart and make you go aaaaaawwwwwwww. She has a tough stomach, thank goodness so it shouldn't hurt. Did I tell ya'll she has actually eaten lightbulbs, rocks, Christmas ornaments and the Christmas tree and she is still walking around. :o

As for boi's getting treats anyway they can.... Keep yourself outta trouble, be kind, loyal, loving and your femme is sure to reward you beautifully. Nothing more alluring than a strong, confident good Butch. Just my thoughts.

Yes, the Chuck-E-Cheese mouse, Sunny. Of course, she says that around her Bday mainly - I think it's the thought of having free pizza. :)

I hear you Elsbth - I hide from the family video camera when I visit Oklahoma. They insist on having it but I just don't understand it! Of course, I use my video camera to capture my girls playing as often as possible - I love that little gadget! I rarely give up control - best way to assure I'm not caught on tape. ;)

Although you really are a beautiful Elsbth

ROTHL at all the things Jade has consumed ... my rottweiler was the same way ... in addition, she used to want to play fetch with bricks and huge limbs too ...

*Sitting down beside Miss Elsbeth ... propping my face in my hand and looking at her*

So Miss Elsbeth, since you already had lasagna, what can I fix for you to eat besides cheesecake? Would you like a late day breakfast? I am a fairly good cook, pretty good with some things. So just tell me what you'd like .............

I would have helped you with the yard work, PC. This femme is very handy around the house - not just the kitchen either. ;) Being a single mommy has made me very self sufficient, although it's always nice to have someone around that is willing to lend a hand. Especially when home repairs come up.

It is a nice little extended family, PC. :) I do so enjoy reading the posts by all of you - gives me the warm fuzzies.

Looking at my warm fuzzies...that could be taken so many ways, PC and I know that is exactly what you intended. Naughty Butch! :P

Let me know and I'll be there, PC!

Anyone wanna volunteer to help me bathe Jade? Gave her a bath Sunday and now it's raining like crazy here. Being a true lover of water and all things dirty - she has now gotten messy again! She is flying thru the doggy door like a Gazelle on over drive and tracking in all kinds of grunge. :s I swear if I didn't love her so much and if she didn't look so darn cute I'd kennel her for the next few hours till the rain stopped.

Being a push over for babies and puppies has its down side. :$

I'll happily accept your help, Sunny. It's the drying her off that is actually the most difficult - she gets a bit of an attitude after she has had a bath, lol. Don't forget her bandana - she'll pout till she gets it.

Add hot coffee, good conversation and your word of honor as a gentleman and we have a deal.

PC - I did realize what it meant but thought I'd get to know you before throwing something. *laughs* And just so you know...Jade loves those that feed her only until the food runs out. After that - it's all about mommy. :)

LOL at PC! I agree, Sillypoet's warm fuzzies do look VERY appealing!

Joy, I will do my best to drop the "bro" portion of your name. How is that?

Sillypoet, you have my word as a gentleman - no tricks or funny stuff when I come to give Jade a bath and spend the night with you. I promise. Although, I WILL tease and cut-up with you a lot - you have my promise on that one too! I do enjoy your playful humor.

lonestarfemme52, did you get your tumor removed? I know you mentioned a while back that you were going to have it removed. I was thinking about you and your health last night and said a little prayer for you. Hope you aren't offended that I prayed for you.

Okay, everyone, let the flirting begin!!!!!!!! Gosh, I do love it! LOL! That is what I am here for - the teasing and the flirting!!! I love bonding with my online Butch brothers (like my good-natured friend, PC) and I absolutely crave femme attention. Heh Heh! <that is my mission here>

The things I really like about you, PC ... ----> you are a blast to hang with, you are funny and pleasant and you lack that "snarly Butch attitude" which I can really do without. Plus, it is fun to sit back and watch you squirm out of stuff when you get yourself in trouble with the femmes here in this thread. <laughing hard now> Although it is not feasible, I'll bet you and I would be good friends in real time.

Hugs to All!

Before I forget, I am presenting all you lovely femmes with some roses ... I won't be online tomorrow and I want to wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day. *Hugs from Sunny*

Please accept my apologies for leaving such a mess late yesterday…

*cranking vacume cleaner and getting the feathers in the hard to reach places*

Man, I was all tuckered out last night after all that activity in here yesterday. I slept so good – did not even get up in the middle of the night and raid the refrigerator … that is a first! Heh Heh!

Miss Sillypoet, you really had me going. <wink> PC, thanks for telling me about the nekked pictures on Miss lonestar’s personal computer … I was glad to know she was one who looked … <snickers> … I’ll stop that thought right there … I better leave well enough alone …LOL!

On a more serious note, Miss lonestar, I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we will be thinking of you as you go through your medical testing … please keep us informed … if you need to talk, please feel free to PM me …

*diving into the pork chops, biscuits mashed potatoes provided by Miss lonestar ... MMMmmm, so good - I am hungry!* Thank you ...

Alright, I need to get some work done. I will be checking back later.

Hugs to my extended family! <smiling at you>
Happy Friday and don't let it disturb you because it is Friday AND the 13th day of the month!

*sets out enough (c) for all with cream and sugar and other goodies for your coffee slurping pleasure*

I also have the espresso machine all steamed up and ready for latte's, mocha and such.,,

Miss Lonestar, you can PM me too, if ya wanna. Both Sunny and I have big butch shoulders to lean on if needed!

Good morn'in to all: Miss Elsbeth, Silly Poet, Joy, bit, Stonecold..!!
Did I miss anyone??

*looks around*

Okay, I'll sing all of you femmes a love song for Valentines.

This song reminds me of the butch femme dynamic.
It’s Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson

Tale as old as time(l) (8) (l)
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
And ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Whoa, whoa, oh, whoa-oh
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Oh, oh, oh
Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Certain as the sun
(Certain as the sun)
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast

You make good coffee, PC ... I like it strong - just like this ...

You "romantic dawg" you, your song selection is great! The femmes are going to be falling all over you even more when they hear you sing that one. <grinning at you>

Where is everyone today?

Hey Buddy, if I don't talk to you anymore today, have a great V-day! Are you doing something special with the woman you told me about a while back in the PM you sent me?

I am going out to dinner for Valentine's day evening. It will be a lot of fun.

Well, whatever you do, have a good time of it and take care!

Hello everyone!

lonestarrfemme, my thoughts and prayers are with you, hon. As PC and Sunny have said, if you need an ear - feel free to PM me too. I will definitely be sending good thoughts your way on the 18th. (l)

TGIF!!!!!! :)

I will be heading out the door soon to go last minute Valentine's shopping for my girls! They have their little school parties today and will be zooming from the excitement. My plans for Saturday will be an all day event with my girls. They have been on a bowling kick lately, so we'll be bowling tomorrow afternoon then home to get all dolled up for girls night out. It's a toss up between Olive Garden and Outback Steakhouse right now. My youngest is a picky eater - if it isn't chicken, pizza or hot dogs she won't eat it. :s

Happy Friday everyone!

How have your studies been, hon?

Waving at Miss Sillypoet and Miss Elsbeth!

Miss Elsbeth, you really missed it yesterday. Sillypoet was in rare form - I think she must have gotten into her girls Valentine candy and got a little hyper from all the sugar. Heh heh! It was all in good fun though. That is great you will get some time away from the papers/exams and can go to Arizona. I know you have been wanting sun for awhile.

Miss Sillypoet, have fun bowling with your girls tomorrow and girls night out tomorrow evening. Don't forget to make Jade special too. LOL!

Sunny

<still wondering if Miss Elsbeth "looked" ... heh heh> I am sorry, I simply could not resist saying that ... winking at you, Miss Elsbeth

I love the edge! It is worth every second - even when I fall! And at times it is more exciting to work without a net. Races the adrenalin! Just don't look down! <snickers> Sometimes I like it rough!

Oh, don't worry, Sunny, I plan on getting Cinder and Jade special treats too! I spoil all my babies! :)

Elsbth - that sounds wonderful! So glad that you get a break, a well deserved one too. My sessions run back to back, so no break for me until after graduation, which is still a ways off. :'( Completely worth it tho!

(laughing)

PC and Sunny - you two crack me up. The innocent smiles worked only for so long. I know that you are both good people, but that mischeviousness is definitely still there. ;)

*taking camera down and hiding it*

I promise to be better behaved in the future, Sunny. No more Valentine candy for me. (a)

Say, Sillypoet, I just had an idea ... let's set aside a night next weekend when everyone can be here and we will have a "sugar party" ... we can all get "revved up" and bounce around ... uhhh, I meant bounce off the walls together ... What do you think??? *Eating some of your fudge*

stonecoldangel, Happy Valentine's Day to you too! Grabbing your little femme kisses out of the air!

Yes, Miss Elsbeth <innocent look> ... that is what I like rough ... it is the water I like rough.
