A FAIL-SAFE METHOD FOR RETRIEVING MATCHMAKER REPLIES

The Matchmaker ads protect your privacy by hiding your email address until you are comfortable giving out any direct contact information to correspondents. When someone replies to your Matchmaker ad on Butch-Femme.com, the system will send you an email that contains a URL web address that will lead you to your new message. This is confusing to some folks because the URL is very long and most email programs break it into two lines, making the link unclickable. Also, you have to first logon to the personals in order to click URL in the email message and retrieve your reply.

RETRIEVING REPLIES:

• When you go to the Matchmaker web page to retrieve replies to your ad, first log in with your user ID and password.
• With the Matchmaker site still open in your browser, go to your email program and open the email titled "Reply To Your Ad at the Butch-Femme.Com Matchmaker". Locate the long URL web address in the email you recieved.
• After you have logged in, if clicking on the URL link in the email does not work, carefully select the entire URL web address link by highlighting it with your mouse. This is a long URL and it probably wraps to a second line in your email program, so make sure you select all of the URL. At the top bar of your email program, select EDIT > COPY to copy the URL web address link.
• Then click over to your browser which has the Matchmaker page already opened with you already logged in. Postiion your mouse over the long, white address bar at the top of your browser and paste in the entire URL web address. Hit ENTER.

It works! If this simple manual process does not take you to your reply, you have probably left out part of the URL when you copied it from your email. Remember, the last part of the URL web address might be wrapped onto a second line in your email program. If your first attempt is not successful, look carefully at the email you recieved and make certain you are copying and pasting in all of the URL web address.

ABOUT YOUR MATCHMAKER LOG-IN: To further insure the privacy of our users, please note that your user ID and password for the Matchmaker ads is seperate from the one you signed up for on the main page of Butch-Femme.com. You may choose the same ID and password for both logins if it is easier for you to remember. If you have forgotten your user ID or password for the MatchMaker, there is a place at the logon screen where you can click to retrieve this information. The MatchMaker user ID and/or password will then be sent to the email address you provided when you signed up for MatchMaker. If needed, there is a similiar link on the front page of Butch-Femme.com that will email your main user name and password which works with your profile, the Forum, the Galleries, ect. If you are having problems, make sure your CAPS lock is not on. Usernames/passwords are case -sensitive.

A FEW NOTES: Like most modern web sites, Butch-Femme.com uses cookies to store your settings. AOL 's older browsers do not handle cookies well. Please make sure you are using the latest AOL browser, which at this writing is version 7.0. Other browsers compatible with Butch-Femme.com's systems are Internet Explorer versions 5 and up, or Netscape versions 6.2 and up.
